Enjoying something and being aware of questionable elements don't have to be mutually exclusive, but it's worth not losing sight of those criticisms.

Exactly.

The purposes of this thread is to.

1. Bring awareness of what the title says

2. As a person who was around then bring some context because the context is radically different now.

It was not to advocate banning music based on bad views or behaviors of the musicians. If I did not listen to or watch entertainment made by people whose views and behaviors I find objectionable I would be starring at the ceiling most of the day.

As it turns out the members who replied not only were aware of this stuff they know more about this topic I do.

I find the normalization and weaponization of Nazi comparisons more offensive then the subject of this thread.

I'm not sure playing oppression olympics does anyone any favours. Jewish people don't own the monopoly on human suffering at the hands of the Nazis. the word triggers a lot of people other than Jews. But drawing comparisons is also not helpful but stems from a lack of understanding of history.

Seeing Nazi regalia in 2025 is likely to trigger a wide range of people. I am fairly sure the black residents of Lincoln heights were triggered seeing Nazi flags of memories of white mobs as recently as the 1970s terrorising their community post-civil rights.

I agree with this. Celebrities in the entertainment industry might make fantastic art, music or movies but that doesn't mean I need to validate myself based on how they live their lives or the symbols they use.
