I want to live in a huge climate-controlled dome full of plant life and away from society.

I love being outside when the weather is pleasant. And I love backpacking because it gets you away from civilization.

There is only one problem with being pagan in the southern hemisphere; the pagan holidays and solstices are all set for the north. So Yule here is in the middle of summer, where in the north Litha in the summer solstice. Still, can't complain; we were here before the Christians pinched our holidays and celebrations and tried to convert us to their faith.

Oh, and at least we won't be accused of blasphemy and told we are going to hell, because to us hell and Satan aren't recognised.

That's what you get for living on the bottom end of the planet. :-b

I like to have a collection of gods, from Norse, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Celtic and Native American history. Thor looks out for the weather, although I must admit, his current choice here in Blighty is not to my liking. Athena and Apollo give me guidance, Necessitas makes the rules, Hathor gives me music and romantic thoughts, the Fianna give me strength, and Iosheka gave me cigarettes! There are many others, but those are the ones I feel chose me, so I let them carry on.

I guess that makes me solitary. I do not like the idea that one deity, who even takes the name "God for himself, can handle me and the rest of the world by himself. :farao:

I am a solitary Wiccan Witch (not all Witches are Wiccan and not all Wiccans are Witches). I am also Unitarian Universalist. I practice witchcraft and faeriecraft. My primary Goddess is Aphrodite and I do not feel a connection to the Gods. I have been intersested in witchcraft and faeriecraft for about 8 or 9 years but only seriously started studying about a month ago.

I am looking into it.

Been reviving and expanding and deepening my lifelong ( since age 14, so about 30 years) interest in, and infrequent but recurring use, of astrology and tarot.

Since deciding to "believe in god" in january, and realising that contra-causal free will does not exist, I have understood that everything is connected in a way that I did not before. While looking for an up to date ephemeris etc on Amazon stumbled across books on wicca/paganism which suddenly made a bit of sense to me.

Started smoking again as a result, it being a good spell involving earth grown plants ( tobacco and paper from trees/rice) and the water of saliva, ( because I roll mine), with fire, ( how many times does one experience live flame each day otherwise? ) , and breath ( air), and most effective in getting me outside to resume my interrupted relationship with the sun, ( I have to go outside to smoke, and I spend a long time on the first one of the day).

But have been rather surprised to find that many/most pagans seem to believe free will exists. So my attendance on various pagan sites has lost its initial momentum.

So far solitary.

Have read a couple of books by Silverwolf, Vivianne Crowley, and someone else, and articles online, and made an altar. It's in the early stages because the god I have been believing in since jan is almost certainly male and a bit of a joker/laughing guy, whose name I do not know. And so far a goddess consists of a tiny figurine of the witch from the film Kirikou ( not seen it) which for some reason I had gathered a while back.

I think it is mainly the connectedness bit that appeals to me. But am dubious about the value of festivals celebrating anything but moon and sun cycles because countryside and agriculture does not play much of a role in my life, and doubt it ever will.

Would appreciate hearing other people's experiences. :)

.
