The 'Miracle' of Consciousness

So, you are saying that only women are conscious or intelligent? I didn't know you had that kind of a feminist streak.
Women need the data input of males to produce young.

You seem to be claiming that women consciously control the cellular processes which are involved in producing a new human. Is that what that brilliant brain of yours has concluded? Or would you concede that it is a mere cellular process requiring no higher mental facilities to accomplish?

I am saying a sperm and an egg make a zygote which can only grow to completion in the uterus of a female. This will be the case until someone develops an artificial uterus in which case the only thing required from the female will be the egg.
And even in this case it is human effort that produces a child. I would like to see a computer produce a child without being specifically programmed to do so.

That is an absurd requirement for intelligence and consciousness, hence AG's reply about women, that has no relation at all.
However, creating, constructing and programming other computers as well as constructing things, that I would tend to agree.

Irrelevant. Yes, conscious computers could be able to produce humans by artificial means, but not as a requirement for that, which is as absurd as claiming they have to create unicorns to prove their intelligence. Humans didn't start to be intelligents when they started to create computers, software or procreating by artificial means, other species can't do any of that and they have some level of intelligence.

I agree. Ruveyn, you are talking nonsense.

ruveyn, when you stick a few quarters into a vending machine and get a Dr. Pepper, you are not creating that soda can.
Similarly, when boys put their "quarters" inside "vending machines" and receive a "soda can" nine months later, they are also not engaging in the act of creation by way of understanding.
