I don't hate Americans or America, just their leader.

One of the major problems with American culture is that it dominates the rest of the world too much. It's not that there's anything particularly wrong with American culture, but there's too much of it and it seems to be taking over other cultures.

...You mean PS2...XBOX...PC Games...Windows...APPLE....Imac...Ipod...MP3 Players...Marshall Amps...Gibson Les Paul Guitars...Moogs..Nike...Rollerblades...Line skates.Skate Boards..Baggies...Jeans...Sweatshirts...T Shirts...Baseball caps..the Mouse you click on.....?

If they are a bother to you then send them to ME..... :D

Thanks Dude........

PS2 is Japanese...
Xbox is good, but who likes Microsoft?
Windows; same as above
Apple, meh. Ditto with iMac.
I HATE iPods!
MP3 players... want one. How are they a product of American culture?
Marshall what?
Guitars? Such instruments are European in origin.
What on earth is a "Moog"?
I very much dislike Nike
How are Rollerblades a product of US culture?
Line skates?
Skateboards meh
Baggies?
How are Jeans are product of US culture?
Ditto with Sweatshirts, and T-Shirts, and hats.
Mouse meh...

Lets see, most we could do without, the others are not US culture products, the rest I'll grant you.

Playstation is Jap culture. Rap music, Mac-Donalds, skateboarding and baggy clothes is a part of Yank culture I could easily do without.

in all fairness, you are the one openly expressing your hatred for large segments of the population... Americans are used to tolerance and helping others whether they be in europe or in the middle east

Eamonn is right to express his opinion, which happen to be based on historical fact and on the news today, rather than your right-wing agenda to prop-up Bush.

You are making out all these things were originated from America. PS2 is a japanese made machine for instance. When did Japan become part of the USA. I have lots of things made from lots of different countries. Does that mean i should back everything that's going on in them? Stop being silly and let people have their opinions on things.

I Suggest the following:

Japan became part of the USA a long time ago. Go and Visit some time

Do you research into globalisation from a good source instead of consulting Billy the Budgie

Stop being silly and let people have their opinions on things, right or wrong. THAT INCLUDES ME, you bloody hypocrite.........

I don't give a rats ass whether you like Cheshires or not.

Well Katze it is you that has been telling people they shouldnt discuss Bush etc etc because it is a waste of our time because we wont do anything about it etc etc but it seems you dont think you discussing us discussing politics is a waste of your time. Go figure.

Im not going to challenge you posting that Japan is a part of the US because i would'nt waste my time on that. You have lost all credibility with that statement.

I dont know why you brought up the chesire cat because i never mentioned it. Are you getting me mixed up with someone else?

I didn't tell people to have an opinion.....Jeesaz...... I expressed my opinion about other peoples Opinion.. (Too difficult for you?). My Opinion is no more important than anybody elses opinion here., nevetheless I must be allowed to express it. Do you have a problem with that?

Credibility about Japan...? I don't think so..... have a look at Tokyo and take out US Culture, I wonder what you will have left over. At the moment it lookes like a cross between Las Vegas and Houston. But I see you are taking me literally.... I don't think it is in you'r hands whether I express my opinions or not, or make judgement about my credibility, I just hope you never become Moderator on this Forum.......

People here are expressing opinions about how they feel that American Culture is dominating the world while they themselves are wallowing in it, like Thatsrdude from South Australia who is probably sitting in a house modelled on an American Bungalow. Go to any major City in Australia and you will be hard pressed to differentiate between Californian Suburbs and Aussie Suburbs. Australia is one big Shopping Mall, strip out American Culture and you won't have much of left of so called Australian 'Culture'.

I am talking about double standards

Fair dinkum Katze, though you have a bad memory because you did try to tell people they shouldnt have opinions on political figures like Bush. You dont get to decide when the story ends either, it comes across as a little bit arrogant to tell people when the story ends. Please dont call me names because i am just as capable as calling them back but wish to refrain at this moment.

You are misjudging me badly because in truth I really I don't hold either one or the other agenda, for or against America, for or against USA, all I am doing is voicing opinions and that's easy. I just pick the side with the most resistance and challenge the prevailing status quo to seee what comes back, to see what kind of opinions come out of me, some good, some more idiotic, makes no difference to me in the end, there are no winners or losers in this, I just enjoy the Bunfight. All opinions are valid as far as I am concerned, I just like to take them on.

In the final analysis Playstation is as much Japanese as is Honda and Kawasaki. The Manufacturers may be, but the concept is not, a fact that Clinton whistfully commented on when he visited Palo Alto and looke at the Electronic goods manufactured in Japan with US Labels on them.

Take care....

Katze.

PS: I am still trying to get the Atavar right, I am PC Illiterate ( I am strictly Mainframe) and have a problem with reducing the size. Any suggestions?

[sarcasm]How dare the Americans critisize the Chinese government and Chinese culture when the first guns originated from there and they are taking over the words manufacturing so most Americans will have Chinese stuff and the Americans love guns and how dare they rebel against the English for independance when they speak English and got most of their customs and culture from the British. Such hypocrites.[sarcasm]

Surely you know you're own opinions and wouldnt you rather listen to other peoples opinions because that is the way i learn more. I admire you're self-deprecating honesty though in admitting that some of you're opinions are less than stellar.

yeah, I agree, at least it may be a first step away from the blame game. If I were to own a handgun I guess I would have to take responsibility for owning it, I would not blame Arms dealers or the Chinese for my carrying a gun.

I don't see the argument

(Back from the Garden, first warm day of spring........!)

Fascinating Eanmonn.... does that mean that:

Some of your opinions ARE stellar? :D
that other people mere opinions are a source of learning? :D :D
that some of your opinions are NOT idiotic? :D :D :D

From my point of view I have learned that other peoples opinions are just that, Opinions, if I really wanted to learn more about a particular subject I would prefer going to the source or
(Katze crossing himself) the 'experts'. This is after all, just an exchange of Opinions..
