Actually I agree with Deacon Blues, cloning won't solve the political reasons for world hunger, people there starve to death because their leaders want them to, because it keeps them in power. However initially I was not saying we could create something from nothing, any DNA from an organism is enough to clone that organism..... I'm not really sure how much it would cost.

People starve because it's more profitable to jack up the retail price and then sell the food to people in developed countries then to feed the poor masses in developing countries. Famine is one of the inevitable results of Free Market ideology when there is a large disparity between rich countries and poor countries.

sadly it's not just a case of providing food to those countries - or money to those countries - somehow you need to make sure it gets to the right people.

Without a world dictatorship (which in itself has it's own obvious problems) - Nobody is going to be able to direct things without local political interference.

We can learn to successfully clone people by cloning other species, such as pigs or apes. We already use animals to test new drugs and other medical treatments; cloning could be similarly perfected before the technique is used to create people.

I would like to see individual organs cloned, so that people who need transplants could have a perfect match created for them.
Cloning could also be a good option for people who have fertility problems. However, I think there should be a limit on the number of clones allowed, to keep peoples' egos in check.

I'm happy with cloning organs by themselves - without people attached. I just wouldn't be happy with cloning of people to use as "organ storage". I think that's a bit unethical.

It might also be worth while cloning some movie stars - eg:

A clone of Arnold Schwartzenegger would have been useful for Terminator 4, since he's now too old and too busy. Similarly baby-clones of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher could have been used in Episode III. :D

Perhaps not, perhaps 123snake is in fact a true man of action, an "Action Man" as it were. Somebody who has little time for "Debates" and "Theories" and "Logic".

Here is a link to a site displaying an artists rendition of what Scientists believe may be his true form (We cannot show you on-site because devious bots could be patrolling this Topic as we speak):
