It happens to folks like me and Haliphron and you can mock us all you like but it still happens and it's not fun being watched when you aren't a criminal. Don't compare it to anything else because it really has nothing to do with it. Just because something worse happens to someone else doesn't mean what happens to me isn't annoying to me, okay?

I don't know if it's as bad as it is with blacks. Besides I didn't mention blacks in that particular post. I was explaining why someone may end up being watched by cops just for doing something so terrible as walking to the store.

im still curious as to

1. where does this occur?
2. how often?
3. to what extent? arrest? violence? what?

i have, personally, knocked on the window of a police car, grinned at them, when they rolled down, and told them "i an knocking at your car!" with a very weird voice, then i RAN away. THAT wasnt weird enough for them to care.

i find it very strange, that it would be a widespread problem for aspies to be persecuted for their weirdness.

if cops pour resources into surveying you, because you shop at your local store, then you are either completely paranoid (there are no cops) or you live in some yet unknown supertotalitarian country that persecutes random civilians for fun, OR you are just EXTREMELY unlucky, and it happened to you ONCE.

the only thing i can imagine, is you looked "shifty" and the store owners called the cops. can happen to anyone, ESPECIALLY blacks :b

Nope, no arrest and only in the town I live in and not around my house but on a busy street near my house. The cops are thick on that street. I think every cop in this town's there.
Other places aren't so bad. I don't get watched everywhere I go. In fact, watch isn't a good way to describe it. There's always lots of patrol cars on the busy street near my house so when I turn on it it's like, wow so many police everywhere it's kind of like living in a police state. So I would say it's only vaguely annoying and par chance not connected in anyway to me personally but a slight inconvenience nonetheless because I have to be extra super cautious about my driving or risk getting a traffic ticket over some petty bs. And they will give a ticket over some petty bs, trust me.

To claim the bullying and poor treatment we have received from ignorant members of society is worse than the Systematic attacks by governments and the clergy to homosexuals is absurd.

I am sure when taken on an individual basis some people with aspergers have suffered terribly. I for one got beaten up on a near weekly basis at school.

I suppose I am lucky as I do not have any visible signs of AS except from some mild stimming. Instead of comparing our plight to other communities we should deal with our plight head on. Get out there and explain as best you can what it is like to have this syndrome. I do. And this is exactly what other discriminated groups have done.

Back to the OP what exactly is your opposition to lesbians having sex

BTW Haliphron sending a PM with the subject 'Queers' really does nothing to enamour me to your perspective. I happen to have a gay step daughter and I KNOW the discrimination she faces.

I have a gay cousin and I've seen people taunt him and he usually keeps his sexual orientations to himself. He even came home one time with his face beat to a pulp.

It gets a bit old to hear the pot calling the kettle black after a while.

What infuriates me about DentArthurDent's dismissal of legitimate complaints Aspies have about discrimination is his insistence that if bigotry and oppression are not overt and direct than then they are not as hurtful to those that they target. NOTHING could be further from the truth. I went to an urban "liberal" highschool were kids thought it was okay to taunt me but that it was not okay to say "fag" and make fun of gay people. And BTW DentArthurDent, you and I live in different countries and I really have no knowledge of how gays and lesbians are treated in Australia but I DO know that the situation in American isnt nearly as bad as a people like you might be inclined to think. There are VERY LARGE segments of the American population that actively like and support gays, aspies HAVE NO such allies. And furthermore, while some gays choose to dress flamboyantly, they CAN and DO have the ability to blend right in, blacks and many aspies DO NOT! I wouldnt say that Aspies have it worse than blacks do in america but I WILL say that being an aspie today where I live is like being a black man in 60s-70s america. American gays have PLENTY of places and plenty of major cities they can go where they're welcome. Im still trying to find a place like that....... Im f*****g sick and tired of the dismissal of ignorant people like DentArthurDent of our issues with discrimination!! i am not even visible to most people, i do my stuff, i walk from A to B and back to A again, HOW do you gain so much attention to yourself? are you yelling random s**t at people? HOW do you gain all that attention?

i can, for the life of me, not understand how you can feel so persecuted. the way you describe it, people notice you IMMEDIATELY, and chase you out of town. are you wearing some sort of supervillain costume?

As I have stated several times already this is an issue of education, not so much of systemic discrimination, much the same as those with cerebral palsy faced.

Acknowledged. BTW, I'd like to point out that American Society is Much harder on gay men then on lesbians. In fact, the whiniest, bitchiest, most angry and outspoken feminists are STRAIGHT women and not lesbians! Since lesbians dont need or want anything (sexually) from men they tend to not feel threatened by men and dont have conflicts of interest with men. The VAST MAJORITY of blatant homophobia, especially homophobic violence, is aimed specifically at gay men. I also believe that Aspie women arent as disliked and distrusted by society as aspie men. When Asperger Syndrome is covered in the media as a "disability" or as a childhood problem the aspies depicted are ALWAYS male. I will be quite impressed when there is a reality TV show that features an aspie MALE cast member. Heather Kuzmich is an aspie but no one really cares because she's an attractive women(and a model).
