I believe that the abortion debate which poisons the Republican party will only be solved by science. As soon as a fetus can be raised outside the womb from shortly after conception, the whole debate will disappear.

Until then, abortion will be as necessary as amputating a limb without anesthesia was in the past - something to be replaced in the future when medical science advances and makes us more civilized.

If we can't do this within 100 years, we are all idiots.

I would legalize all presently scheduled narcotics.

Then all that terrorists have to do to get their way is to keep getting presidents impeached till one yields to their demands, assuming the first doesn't.

I would get rid of all speed limits.

the purpose of this thread is to post unpopular [at least among some people or groups] political opinions, so I did. it is not meant for debate in this thread. but to provide you a nominal answer, I will say that I consider speed limits to be a royal pain in the @$$.

Very surprised but glad terrorists have not tried this yet in America.

If I was POTUS, I would make sure church and state stay separate.

if I was in charge, universal health care would be the rule and it would be non-profit.

I lean towards European-style Social Democracy.

I find that that works best when the population is homogeneous, abuse of the system is low, there is little immigration (and the immigration that there is is from similar countries) and everyone knows where they stand.

You wish to burden the prosperous healthy with the care for the poor unhealthy? Imposed burdens are a form of slavery. If the prosperous wish to help the poor it should be voluntary.

Having said that, it is time to stop giving the mega-corporations a free ride on the backs of the Middle Class. With corporate subsidies, depletion allowances and so called agricultural aid, the mega-Corporations have become the true Welfare Queens of the American System.

The poor have no more right to live at the expense of the middle class than do the Greed-Heads from Corporation Land.

I think a far larger number of Islamic schools are dodgy than is thought by most people. Not all, of course, but when we have schools like this:
