Murder, or otherwise, it does not seem to have affected the way people behave.

How is ancient Hebrew relevant to the 21st century? Pedantry ...

That's a great start to devaluing the Bible.

It's a great start to devaluing DRILLING DOWN ON THE DETAILS LIKE A GIT, actually. This is a really irritating Aspie habit.

Well, no. If God made a distinction between justifiable killing and unjustifiable killing, then it seem pretty relevant.

"To murder," and "to kill."

Only an Aspie twit would argue semantics here. We all know they mean the same damn thing.

Except 1) They don't, and 2) God didn't speak English.

God didn't speak English?

Oh God. [facepalm]

What a typical Aspie thing to say.

God is kind of beyond all language-barriers, don'tcha think?

That's an interesting point. Is God Jewish and does He speak Hebrew or Aramaic. And, these days, is he an Israeli? The way the USA is throwing money at Israel certainly has some miraculous quality about it.

Okay. Why would God, Creator of the Universe, have an earthly nationality? The stupidity makes me so angry I cannot think straight. :x

Except the Bible was written in Hebrew (at least, this part was) so the words have the Hebrew meaning. This isn't difficult. :?

Don't blame it on the current discussion, slowmutant. It's chronic.

Why that is a stupidity?
The concept of God as we know it come from Judaism, at least that is what we gather from it, so the God of the OT as being a jewish god, would make sense, puting it in a different perspective than yours. For you may sound stupid, but for others, especially secular scholars I could say it could make sense for them.

Well, why did God choose one and only group of people to reveal the truth to? Why did he incarnate himself only once in that one ethnicity? Even if God has no Earthly nationality, he seems to have picked favorite races.

Isn't another logical interpretation that many different tribes believed that God revealed himself, but some got wiped out or their message got lost, while for some reason, Jesus and the Beatles became popular??
