God doesn't seem to exist!
No, that's agnosticism. Atheism is the belief there are no Gods.
atheism is a lack of belief in god or gods.
Agnosticism (A - gnosticism; literally, you cannot know) is also a positive statement of belief... the only thing you can know is that you cannot know anything. Irrationality has no bounds.
not an equivalent set of statements. i don't believe in gods is like i don't collect snow globes. i hope you can see the difference between a lack of belief and a belief.
I do hope that you will share your convoluted, inverted, wisdom with us mere mortals who are stuck in reality.

i have been perfectly clear. is english your first language?

okay, i'll try different phrasing. i have no belief in god because existence of such a being is highly unlikely.
No, that's agnosticism. Atheism is the belief there are no Gods.
Look up agnosticism. It means one isn't sure of truth or one who believes it is unknowable. Atheis is simply not believing in fairy tales...
I do hope that you will share your convoluted, inverted, wisdom with us mere mortals who are stuck in reality.

Atheism is a dogmatic requirement of the more general religion called Materialism. That is the religion that Atheism subsists in... much as the Russian Orthodox religious persuasion subsists in Christianity.
Getting back to the thread title... God doesn't "seem" to exist only if one ignores any logical and observational evidence that says that He must.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion
^^^
"A religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence.[note 1] Many religions have narratives, symbols, and sacred histories that aim to explain the meaning of life, the origin of life, or the Universe. From their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature, people may derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle.
Many religions may have organized behaviors, clergy, a definition of what constitutes adherence or membership, holy places, and scriptures. The practice of a religion may include rituals, sermons, commemoration or veneration (of a deity, gods, or goddesses), sacrifices, festivals, feasts, trances, initiations, funerary services, matrimonial services, meditation, prayer, music, art, dance, public service, or other aspects of human culture. Religions may also contain mythology.[1]
The word religion is sometimes used interchangeably with faith or set of duties;[2] however, in the words of Émile Durkheim, religion differs from private belief in that it is "something eminently social".[3] A global 2012 poll reports 59% of the world's population as "religious" and 36% as not religious, including 13% who are atheists, with a 9% decrease in religious belief from 2005.[4] On average, women are "more religious" than men.[5] Some people follow multiple religions or multiple religious principles at the same time, regardless of whether or not the religious principles they follow traditionally allow for syncretism.[6][7][8]"
Sometimes it helps to have detailed definitions to understand a topic of interest; much better.
While a simple lack of belief in GOD does not constitute a religion;
As soon as an atheist says WE BELIEVE THIS;
THEN IT BECOMES RELIGION,
at least to some degree.
A SHARED SYSTEM OF BELIEFS, CULTURAL SYSTEMS, AND world views
that relate humanity to an order of existence is precisely
what the "Wrong Planet Strident Atheists" an online
organization of Atheists do on this very website;
until the bully moderators who bully out
'GOD fearing folks' leave
this place themselves;
leaving it as a more
tolerant and
accepting
environment
for GOD believing
FOLK. So no; Atheism
is not the religion it
once is on this Wrong
Planet environment; but
it dam sure meets the
'club definition' of religion
back when the 'Wrong
Planet Strident Atheists',
represent themselves
as a group of folks
with common
ideas and
purposes
before the
dissolution of
that group here.
Football can meet the definition
of religion when shared as
a world view; and so
can even frigging
thinking that
a frigging
totally non-profit helping
organization named Autism
Speaks is a evil Nazi Eugenics
organization, too; as a negative
bonding social force that does
exist on this site, too; It's just
human nature to have
religion; some folks
argue over semantics;
but all 'normal' human
beings subscribe to
some 'type of religion'
as it is part of human
instinct to do this,
per existential
intelligence;
some folks do
not have much
existential intelligence;
and that is a huge disadvantage
to ever gaining peace of mind and
happiness in life as it stands or falls
for
NOW;
And yes, of course THAT CAN be gained
through science as a religion
as easy as
GOD as religion;
AND yes, perhaps
even easier;
or WTF
works;
to make
life GREAT;
is truly always
the bottom line NOW1!..

I disagree. Usually people who use such inclusive phrases are simply stating their own personal opinions, or making allusions to social cameraderie.
On the other hand it might, of course, apply to a society of atheists (but not a loose collection of atheists who happen to agree with each other). There's certainly an element of religious behaviour in, for example, Atheism+ and the "freethought" blogs - they even have a few notable apostates.

Just to a first degree of what can eventually happen when a LACK OF BELIEF in God's or God becomes strong, weak, militant, and then agnosticism, and even Pantheism and Buddhism becomes an atheist thingy; instead of religion.
But yes, technically I agree; just stating 'we' have a lack of belief in GOD's or GOD is Okay; but that
can be the first step to more; in real life, it's usually off the table to discuss. And to be clear,
it is perfectly fine with me when Atheism meets that definition of religion as it once does
here, per the WP Strident Atheists, online group, of similar believing and practicing
militant atheists; freedom of expression is the biggest deal for me.
Hawkins and Dawkins and the like; do most definitely make Atheism not only into a religion; but
a profit making enterprise; not much different than TV evangelists; big difference is
they only get a couple million of views or so on Youtube; where some evangelists
get scores and hundreds of millions more; and yes; I see the like of Hawkins
and Dawkins, as relatively harmless and docile;
compared to the ill that TV evangelists
bring to full herds of sheep believing
folks; giving away their money
on credit cards online;
for bigger Jets
and 10 million
dollar homes;
like so many
TV evangelists
and now Internet
Evangelists do..

And ha! i speak Hawkins, when i am thinking of the now
deceased Hitchens; but truly Stephen Hawking, taking
science in to the realm of God analysis is
making science into religion even more.
Particularly; as his assertion that
the Universe just pops out of
so-called nothing as
existing with
the Big Bang
and the FORCE
OF GRAVITY;
or WHATEVER NATURAL
EXISTING FORCE(S) THEN;
is totally consistent, still now;
with the ideology and shared
belief OF Nature as ONE and same
with GOD, per forms of Pantheism,
the religion, as classically defined;
AND Gnostic Christianity, per the
historical Yogi leaning Jesus, then.
http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/thomas.htm
There is every CORRECT reason to believe
that GOD is ALL stuff and stuff
IS ALL INTERCONNECTING
INTERDEPENDENTLY AND
still evolving; and OTHER
stuff, as far as human
nature 'blessed' by
overall, evolving
nature; is 'devolving',
just in one lifetime; due
to epigenetic disaffect IN
TOTAL EFFECT; as UNIQUELY
AND now, 'properly' challenged
human life, with the 'natural'
environment that IS moreover
morphing into a cultural environment;
'anathemic' to what is generally understood
by the natural sciences, of human being, as a
evolving thriving human being condition, NOW.
It's cool to have a real GOD; and Hawking's beliefs
per current scientific hypothesis and theories
shake nothing about my beliefs in an all
natural GOD; that some of us clearly
experience much more than
others, per each human
being's unique eyes
of perception
and action with
GOD THAT IS
ALL THAT IS;
MORE AMAZING
than any work
of fiction will
ever be;
alone;
particularly,
for those of
US WHO
EXPERIENCE
MORE OF THE
AMAZING STUFF
INTERNALLY
AS HUMAN
BEING, in
human
emotions,
senses; yes,
and rational
verbal thought;
with imagination
and creativity fuller
engaged in mind and
body balance of increasing
physical and all other other
potential intelligences coming
'online' in mind and body balance!
