with Mark Foley and the homophobe conservative who are really gay ( ted haggard), its a case of Doth protest too much!

I was flipping channels last night and saw Oprah interviewing Ted Haggard ... he actually sounded rather open and honest about his behavior and identity. He said thing like "I tried to discuss this with other religious people, but they told me to get more involved in church activities and quickly dismissed it" and "I couldn't bring myself to accept myself or deal with the issue other than I kept praying and fasting and was hoping for God to deliver a miracle."

Classic denial/repression/sublimation strategies do not work very well.

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, Iraqi war + Afghani war + War on Terror =/= World War III.

As far as international conflicts go, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the War on Terror are actually fairly minor, in respect to human life, international involvement, or monetary cost, on an annual scale, of course.
