People do not exist

Math is a useful approximation of reality by identifying issues with one's conceptual scheme and determining outcomes within the rules of that conceptual scheme. The only number in existence is 1 though, we invented 2 and 3. ;-P
The most common formulation of the Peano axioms would actually have you claiming that only 0 exists. 1 is defined as S(0), 2 as S(1), and so on. 0 itself is defined as {Ø}.

AG: I'm going to claim that utility is at least an indicator of validity. Correct beliefs should be more likely to lead us to useful results than false beliefs. And in order to even function or communicate, you have to disregard the philosophical claims you are making.
Utility isn't completely unrelated to validity, but it is too great of a leap to say that they are one and the same.
Good thing then that I didn't say they were one and the same. I said utility is an indicator of validity, and this is supported by a belief that correct beliefs are more likely to be useful than false beliefs. (Though of course there may be useful false beliefs and useless true beliefs mixed in)

But, if I have a case that a belief is false, while my case has no bearing on the utility of the idea, then citing the utility will not prove the correctness of the belief.

People do not exist? Depends on accepted definitions and parameters. Nice one, AG.
Thanks sartresue.
