Fox News promotes economic ideas that are the equivalent of bloodletting and leeches. It's like telling your audience not to see a doctor, to see the local quack instead. It's malpractice.

Quacks like von Mises, Hayek and Milton Friedman.

Actually, Fox tends to promote the views of supply-siders like Laffer, who is a quack. I don't think I've ever heard of Austrian thought being promoted on Fox.

Incidentally, Mises and Hayek would have been ideological enemies of Milton Friedman. Friedman nearly started America on the path to a Guaranteed Minimum Income.

Friedman was being realistic. Rather than having some agency or complicated means testing, just cut a check to people making less than a certain amount of income. It is cheaper, cleaner and less prone to corruption. And it has the virtue of making sure everyone has something to eat and wear. This will make the less prosperous folk less prone to despair and less vulnerable to extremists.

that sounds like a high-fivable proposal.

Friedman is the man to do the high five with. He was an American, therefore he had a solid pragmatic core unlike the Europeans, Hayek and von Mises.

Fox doesn't lie, the just don't tell the truth you want.

They're not necessarily slanted to the right, just not slanted to the left.

They do lie.
When Mike Foley (is that right?) in the congress was caught harassing an under aged intern for sex, they reported he was a Democrat. He was in fact a Republican.
When the silliness of Obama's alleged flub in his swearing in as president occurred, Fox implied He may not really be president.
Fox has questioned if ACORN somehow stole the election for Obama. They did not.
Fox had kept up the drum beat of how the Obama justice department had left the New Black Panther Party off the hook on voter intimidation charges. In fact, that was the Bush justice department. And rightly they should have - the New Black Panther Party are just a few social misfits in costumes who intimidate no one.
And that is just a few example that immediately come to mind. I know there are a whole lot more.

Well, at least Fox was smart enough to tear The Westboro Baptist Church a new one when Fred Phelp's daughter wanted to spread her garbage on there.

Those hate mongers came to neighboring Spokane, here in Washington recently. My friend, who is also my daughter's Godfather, was at the counter protest, which outnumbered the few Westboro idiots by literally thousands. As he said, something that unites veterans with drag queens can't be a bad thing. :D
