So you're waiting for negative change sitting on your hands? The system sucks because of the same apathy that you show. 41% of people went into the Iowa caucuses not knowing who they were voting for. The figure was 56% for NH. Why do they bother going at all if they don't know what the heck is going on? I don't think your attitude will bring any change that you would like.

The people in NH were busy the choosing the lesser of evils. They knew exactly what they were doing. Very few of the voters were enthusiastic about their choice.

Voting according to who will screw the country up less, can't lose.

Still not much point.

I was being factitious. I don't actually think people voted according to who they thought would ruin the country less, they voted on who they thought held positions closer to what they stood for. Or so they think, or maybe they are still undecided.

Do you mean facetious? Factitious means "Made for a special purpose, not genuine; not natural, artificial." (Concise Oxford Dictionary)

And most likely it can't win either. So we settle for a tie with stupidity and mendacity.

I weep for the Republic.

That's better than weeping for the despotic dictatorship.

It's not apathy I think things do need to change, but voting isen't going to do anything, again positive change will not be made through the current system.

exactly. reformist rhetoric is futile. it seems to me that you are an lib-communist and you just don't know it.

Deafeatist nonsense.

You have clothes on your back. You have food in your stomach. You have a home. You have an internet connection with myriad sources for news and information. You have the freedom to b***h about how terrible your government, your political leadership and your country are. You have a vote.

How many people in the world lack one or more of these things?

I don't suggest for a moment that our countries and our economies are perfect. But change most certainly can and does happen. But not if people simply go home and complain that change isn't happening without stirring themselves to make it happen.

If you don't like what business is doing, then hit business where it hurts--its revenues. Get onto twitter and facebook and start a consumer revolution.

Right now for the US the biggest concerns are deficit and economy - fix those and the rest follows. The ironic thing about people jumping on Romney about Bane Capital - I think it actually helped Romney a lot because, if he can flip, improve, and trim the fat off of a failing company to make it float it makes him all the more what the US needs. It also brought those other candidate's 'capitalist' credentials into question.

Could the republican party have put forward a stronger candidate? If someone stronger stepped up sure. Didn't happen and, for the weighted average of what the party represents - Romney was logical outcome.

As for talking about plastic empty-suits in office who'll say absolutely anything, isn't that what we already have right now and isn't that what we bashed GWB for not doing? It seems like these kinds of semantic criticisms of robotics or 'could sell the devil ice' are really just saying "I don't like him/her", its a bit vacuous as a directed criticism unless you happen to be in the shoes of someone like Carl Rove who has to do the math of candidate sailability - even at that it seems like the big wigs and 'king makers' have Romney pegged; against a bench like Huntsman, Gingrich, Paul, and Santorum I can see why....

Weeping, meaning something coming out of your tear ducts?

Just asked because you don't strike me as a weeping kind of person.
