lol US is such a joke of a country. So hard to keep in mind that 50% would support a party so ridiculous party as to "shut down the government" (Actually just stop paying money to the government workers, cause of course congressmen will still get money). That this absurd stunt is allowed by US law or that there is a party that could think that doing it doesn't out US as a complete joke of a country. Oh my, really, oh my.

PS: Are people who vote republican and are not ultra rich utter idiots?

Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative. [John Stewart Mill]

That is the question I've been begging an answer to - - as I pound my head against the wall over it all.

I blame the shutdown on the voters who voted for those rethugs.

How many kids and their families or schools are going to be disappointed because those webcams are gone?

Of course PRISM, the drone attacks and the TSA will all be functioning just fine. It is not like they are a waste of money or anything.

It's midnight eastern time and I'm going to healthcare.gov, but the federally-run exchanges don't seem to be in operation yet.

at least the exchanges will be open tomorrow, which is as close as I've gotten to affordable comprehensive health coverage in a long time.
