Pence might just be the capable version of Trump

I would say Pence is more Christian version of Trump. While Trump supports conservative values on some issues, he somehow failed to do so when it comes to gay marriage or all gender restrooms. Sure, Trump might be conservative on other topics, particularly race. But the issues of race can't be directly verified by the Bible one way or the other. The issue of homosexuality can be. So Trump basically left out the exact conservative issues that are relevant to Christianity. This makes it seem weird that Christian conservatives want to pick Trump rather than Pence.

Well I guess Trump is anti-abortion, but so is Pence. And even there Trump had a history of being pro-abortion while Pence was anti-abortion his whole life.

I can see where both Trump and Pence would be intolerable to many progressives.
Where does DeSantis sit? In the middle of them both?

DeSantis might be worse than Trump.

Do you have a reason for saying that?
If so, can you give it?

DeSantis actually made mask mandates illegal in school districts. Trump wouldn’t have gone that far.

Didn't "The Science" say that children had virtually no life-threatening risk of covid?
And that there was virtually no transmission by them?
Could this have been the reason?

Quite a number of children have died of COVID. I think the original communication back in 2020 was in relation to rationing vaccines/masks to people most at risk which were older adults + people with weak immune systems. This was no longer an issue once supply was being met.

However many republicans continue to subscribe to pseudoscientific views that are not supported by the medical experts (hardly surprising but worrying given we are talking about 75 millions morons).

How many is "many"?
We have people dying from covid *now* but the media isn't reporting it, here in Australia.
These are significant figures, btw.
We also have a major influenza event where, from memory, 15,000 people have been identified, yet there is no mask mandate in Australia.

Society is simply accepting this as part of life.
People always die, btw.
You may have missed that fact. ;)

75 million "morons"?
Do you mean 75 million *republicans*?
Assuming so, there is a WP rule which specifically prohibits this type of generalisation, the last time I looked.
May I suggest you disengage your binary and hateful mindset and think in terms of shades of grey?

Yeah I I'll omit the 75 million comment, it was unnecessary

Was the COVID virus as dangerous to children as the normal flu? TBH I don't know. The death toll from children doesn't specify if the kids were healthy or whether they had a comorbid?

Would the parents of those kids wished they had vaccinated and protected their kid from the virus? I strongly suspect they would.

The flu is much more dangerous to children than the coronavirus.

I don't think either of us are epidemiologists so can't really 100% support that statement.

So, you think I plucked that little gem out of the air?

The literature is mixed and a lot of specialists are undecided. It also depends on the kid, Coronavirus is supposed to be more easier to pick up than the flu and my 16yr old was bedridden longer with COVID than she ever was with the Flu. But then again she recovered and is ok now. My inkling is that COIVD is about as dangerous as the flu to kids.
