I understand. After all, in the past I've pointed out where you were deliberately discriminating against all nonchristians, so obviously answering my question might once again make it very clear that you prefer to discriminate against nonchristians for being different from you rather than tpo treat your fellow man with equality and respect. Especially given the fact that this thread is about an issue where christians are demanding they be given special treatment, bove the law that won't be given to any other religions

Blah, blah, blah. All the same junk you people say about Ragtime. Aren't you getting a little tired of being as a broken record? Parakeets.

Doesn't that apply to him actually? (considering putting abortion into a topic that has nothing to do with it)

I certainly hope you aren't referring to me, being is I've said nothing but the truth which is easily proven.

And indeed to be a broken record would require one to be repeating something.

But if you wish to avoid thie issue that's fine. THough why post in a thread if you aren't willing to have anything resembling a discussion on the issue. Its rather childish behavior don't you think

See, traditionally it has been called Christmas and that's why I think it is silly to call it something else. Anybody can have a party in any holiday so calling it a holiday party doesn't mean much.

Actually traditionally it was called "Winter Solstice." Then the christians decided to change it to "Christmas" using the exact same symbols and date as the winter solstice symbol.

So if we take your argument, wouldn't we have to say its ridiculous to call it Christmas?

Yes, and further, I take offense at people using the phrase "Christmas Party" to mean a night to get plastered with your friends and act like an imbecile.

Just call it a wild party, because that's all it is -- another excuse to get drunk.

Funny, (at my previous place of work) they changed it from Christmas party to Holiday party because of an executive that was Christian, but her denomination of Christianity does not celebrate Christmas the way most people do. But no - we have to have this PC nanny-noohooo to make everybody happy. Why can't the Christians just agree on this? Why do we have to respect the feelings of Christians in the minority? They should accept the fact that they are wrong and the majority is right.

The holiday is actually Yule, or Yuletide. The Christians bastardized it after they formed their blasphemous thief cult to honour their 'messiah' (who wasn't even born then - he was born in March 6 BCE). So if anyone has got a gripe around here about persecution etc, it should be the pagans and those of other faiths, not you lot who are set up comfortably in your rich little churches with your government sponsored genocide programs (cleansing the middle east of all non-Christians). So before you two (birdie and Ragdoll) start jumping up and down and gnashing your teeth, remember it was you lot that started all this nonsense in the first place. Oh, and don't get me started on the Crusades and the Inquisitions.......

Hm, Winter Solstice sounds cooler than holiday party. Only trouble is, in the Southern Hemisphere it is the middle of summer.

Ragtime, I see your point about the drunken parties and I think some believe I'm strange because I don't look forward to getting drunk.
