Determinism, non-determinism or free will.
Option 1: The universe is deterministic, and every event that ever happens is dependent only on the universe's initial conditions. Advocated by Newtonian and Einsteinian physics.
Option 2: The universe is non-deterministic (random), and everything is controlled by "dice rolls" beneath the surface of reality. Advocated by many interpretations of quantum mechanics.
Option 3: The universe is controlled by mind(s) (either ours or God's). Advocated by most religions.
I have no idea which is the right answer (or if there is only one right answer), and I believe anyone who claims they do is probably deluding themselves.
[threadjack]I'm a "Modal" or "Probabilistic" Determinist, a position based of the "Many Worlds AKA Parallel Universes" interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. So I'm a mix of #1 and #2.[/threadjack]
Pure #2. I don't even belief in the concept of cause. While we're jacking the thread...
I guess I haven't contributed to this thread at all, so to avoid the obvious physical interpretation, I'm going to go with evil. There are many more ways that evil could befall people than there are good, so an evil outcome is more likely. Evil always prevails
Either that or the pauli exclusion principle...
