Revenge will never work.

This reminds me of Miller's experiments.

As an Australian, and this is not an exaggeration, but this there is stupidity and criminality by people on all sides of this issue. I don't live in Sydney, but one of the groups leeching off the mob retaliation were responsible for a series of bashings at my university last year. Not to be offensive but, the riots of Brixton and LA had a deeper meaning, this is just violence. There is a concerted police effort now but I suppose the next test will come this weekend. I have muslim friends and surfer friends in my city and they get along fine. This mob action is an expansion of a microcosm into a horrific scale.

The gang problem is ongoing, probably no more or no less than most large cities around the world. Keep in mind, this started as a small news story about the lifesurfers which then snowball monstrously as each additional element came into play. Alcohol and stupidity. I feel sorry for those affected on both sides and for the police officers caught in the middle. I hope the Lebanese Rugby League side can tour next year and help heals some wounds.

In regards to 9/11 and more in particular for us, the bombings in Indonesia and ongoing terrorist cell arrests, you'd be naive not to think it had a part in it. This is the image of the world that's being re-created as we speak.
