Once you talk to them, they are okay people--but their beliefs are outrageous.

Cheers, glad someone gets it  ! I know many of those who get such jobs don't have much choice and probably don't enjoy pestering people and those who have been indoctrinated just don't know any better, but sometimes I just want some peace and quiet and damn, these days privacy and personal space became such a luxury!

Don't worry about it, you didn't offend me in any way, I just thought that saying the Bible is better than Mein Kampf is not a very efficient way of making a case for the Bible. And the three books have at least one thing in common, as they were all used to instigate and justify genocide and all sort of atrocities.

Edited to add: multiple quotes and no CAPTCHA, it's a miracle!

Oh boy, don't even get me started on the JW church. My mother's been harassed by JW missionaries, my grandfather had a friend who tried to convert him, and I have a close friend who was forced into it for over a decade. I know most of the church's members are decent people who mean well, but the faith itself is a scam built on lies, mind games, and deceit. It may be a fringe sect of Christianity, but the way the whole thing operates is extremely reminiscent of Scientology. I don't want to offend anybody, but the JW church is something I feel quite strongly about.

"It may be in place to remark here the essential identity of the various extant forms of collectivism. The superficial distinctions of Fascism, Bolshevism, Hitlerism, are the concern of journalists and publicists; the serious student sees in them only the one root idea of a complete conversion of social power into State power. When Hitler and Mussolini invoke a kind of debased and hoodwinking mysticism to aid their acceleration of this process, the student at once recognizes his old friend, the formula of Hegel, that 'the State incarnates the Divine Idea upon earth,' and he is not hoodwinked."

Maybe not everywhere, and I say this as a non-Texan.

Donald Trump was bribed by Hilary Clinton to be the way he is in order to hinder the Republican's party's reputation, therefore she would win the elections.

Some of these are more in the realm of philosophy, but whatever:

- I think most of the things people say to sound tough or unemotional are basically BS, including my own. It's more of a game than anything else.

- Misanthropy is the only honest form of hatred.

- Alcohol and tobacco qualify as drugs just as much as illegal ones, and they aren't universally less harmful. But drugs also aren't universally bad. They are unintelligent chemicals, offering experiences that can be (somewhat) useful in moderation and very damaging with abuse. Much like sexuality, in some respects.

All of these are concentrated on Australia. I don't particularly care about other nations, because policing them is not something I'd do. Messing in someone else's affairs without fixing your own is not on! *cough*America*cough*

- banning religious influence in politics and schools

- banning refusal of medical services based on religious beliefs

- making same-sex marriage legal and unchangeable

- compulsory teaching of science and evolution in schools

- removing tax exemption status from religious institutions

- an exponentially-growing tax on tobacco and alcohol products (2-4-8-16 etc...)

- removal of compulsory voting

- removal of parole, good behaviour bonds, suspended sentences, etc from our already piss-weak justice system

- prisons become actual prisons and not the pseudo-holiday resorts they are now

- people in positions of national authority MUST speak English (so that Grand Mufti fellow is screwed, good riddens)

Those are but a few.

Is there evidence that this would work?

Law enforcement officers should always show a legal gun-carry permit before they shoot anyone.
