Sounds like Hitler, when he unleashed the Brown Shirts on his critics and enemies, following coming to power. Several people died, and a great many were literally beaten within an inch of their lives. That's before Hitler purged the Brown Shirts, in turn, by means of the SS.

Believe me, when The Rump becomes president, the US will finally get the government it so rightly deserves: a dictatorship. People might wake up to that fact, once it's too late. Then again, H. L. Mencken was right: Never underestimate the stupidity of the American Electorate.

If only. In what has come down in history as The Night of Long Knives, Hitler had the leadership of the Brown Shirts rounded up and shot, including their leader Ernst Rohm, who had been with Hitler and the Nazis from the beginning.
Officially, Rhom and his sexual playmates he had elevated to high positions in the Brown Shirts had supposedly plotted to overthrow Hitler. The truth was, Rohm had wanted the Brown Shirts to become the German army, which the aristocratic Prussian officer corps would hear nothing of, as they considered Rohm and his bunch to be ill mannered, low cultured trash. As Hitler knew he needed the German army as his silent partner, and as even Mussolini had warned him to do something about the left wing of his party, he searched for any pretext he could find to eliminate Rohm. That pretext came with SS chief Heinrich Himmler, who had had ambitions to replace Rohm and the Brown Shirts as the Nazi party's paramilitary organization with his own. Himmler cooked up this plot by Rohm after the Brown Shirt leader while drinking said Hitler could pretty much get with the program, or get run over. To be sure, Hitler knew this was bull sh*t, but as I said, he was looking for any pretext.

The only warning people would have is the sniper calling them and going "I'm sorry eh"

But in reality it would be a massive fail on the states part if he gets in
