To me, 'fat' means nothing but a fairly severe medical problem.

I really dont apply it to people much. I think it's misleading. Everyone is "fat" because everyone has fat on their body! Right?

I'm not Lungs, am I? Or Liver?? Or Pancreas...????

(note that this is coming from a "skinny girl".... and yes, i hate that term too... YES I NOTICED I HAVE A LOT OF SKIN ON MY BONES. ITS THE LARGEST ORGAN OF THE BODY, WHAT OF IT??? lolololol)

thanks for that! that is a very cool and unique perspctive... i had never never thought of it that way.

here's a gem you might find interesting. in our culture we always say that we are related by 'blood', but in fact no blood is ever shared amongst family members, even in the womb. i never thought about how silly it is until i took an anthropology class where we learned that other cultures don't always share that phrase - in one particular place, family members are said to share a 'stomach'.
