That didn't help McCain any 4 years ago. Stupid is as stupid does.

He won the nomination didn't he? I'd say his entire career is a testament that it helps..

For all of McCain's faults for which there are many, at least he isn't a chickenhawk like the majority of his neocon colleagues.

Not sure the relevance of quoting Forrest Gump is

They both come across as weak on foreign policy and not only weak but also a bit undeveloped.

At least McCain had a pro-Israel stance and by that I mean I think Ron Paul has a pro nothing stance on foreign affairs.

Which is fine with me. The USA can't go on being the world's nanny forever. Especially when our government is broke. So much for the White Man's Burden.
