I'll be voting for Obama. The Republicans at their current state scare the hell out of me. I do not trust them to not roll back reproductive or gay rights as soon as they regain control of Congress like they've done in so many other state legislatures this year.

Obama has actually had the strongest ethics of any administration in modern times, which to me suggests that he has strong leadership skills. I would rather have him than anyone else in charge of this nation during a crisis.

He's not in charge though...
I'm not sure where you come off saying that.

You really think Obama is the one running things.......seriously?
Yup. He's been a pretty awesome commander-in-chief. I admire the man. You got a problem with that?

The last presidency destroyed a lot of people's faith in the chief executive, but Obama has done a lot to restore it. The chief executive has emerged from the ashes, reborn in the image of Generation X and every reason that Generation X and its offspring don't suck entirely. He is a compact encapsulation of the redeeming qualities of the past couple of generations. He is the FDR of Generation Z.

We're rotating those baby boomers into their retirement homes. This will be a day of reckoning. Have the baby boomers served us well enough to deserve for us to go to any length avoid making their golden years crappy?

No......I just find it ridiculous anyone still belives the President is actually the one in charge of this Nation, its just a little laughable is all. Even if he was capable of restoring anything does not mean he would have the authority to do much.....that depends on what the people who buy the politicians want not what the majority of people in this nation want.....Obama's no different.

And since when is it about deserving.....lol did it matter if I deserved that cup of coffee someone gave me last night, and did it matter if that guy who bummed a couple smokes off me deserved them? NO......what about just being a decent human? Just a thought, I mean I can't say I know what exactly a baby boomer is.....no ones ever actually explained it to me I know its something to do with after WW2 or whatever a bunch of people had kids.....not sure if the kids they had are the baby boomers or if the people who had them are......confuses me. But I doubt every one of them has done something that would make me feel that they should have crappy remainders of their lives. but just something to think about.

We simply can't afford another 4 years of Obama. Our country will be completely bankrupt with his policies. I'll be voting for whichever Republican gets the nomination.

Restore or Replace? Restoring American means going back to those wonderful days before the Civil War. Is that what you really want.

If you are talking about an America where government does not interfere with business, I am sad to tell you that American never existed. Not once since 1787. Government has had it finger in the pie ever since when.

We're talking about the Republican right here, who have been living in a never-never land of the dim past. You know, where "Negroes" were happy before civil rights, the Civil War was really about Yankee aggression and not about slavery, all Americans were white and Christian, and business was at the forefront of social justice, and payed their workers a living wage.

Stewart Alexander. I cannot bring myself to be a part of perpetuating the 2 party system of my wretched country: Barack Obama is so inactive and wimpy that nothing will get done until someone else takes becomes President of the United States; Herman Cain's economic plan is incredibly stupid; Mitt Romney is even more evasive of questions than usual; Newt Gingrich has such a thin façade of pseudointellectualism that it would be laughable were he not taken seriously; and Rick Perry prays for rain.

Though I am not technically a socialist, I am far closer to Stewart Alexander than anyone else. At least Stewart Alexander, who I supported for vice president in 2008 (by posting flyers; I was too young to vote then), actually has a consistent, thoughtful ideology that he wishes to put into practice.

Maybe not, but another 4 years of Obama will be fatal to the United States.

If the Republicans win we may be able lurch onward for a bit and maybe something better will turn up. The idea is to live to lurch on another day.

Its not my intention to offend anyone, but I think its worth mentioning politics is dangerous for aspie's because it's easy to believe what they are saying, and politicians rarely say what they mean. I haven't really looked at the PPR section until now, but after seeing Obama is winning this poll, I was very surprised. I thought Ron Paul was a clear cut, logical choice since he is a strict constitutionalist. The constitution is what really makes America what it is. And I will agree the constitution is extremely outdated, but that doesn't mean it should be circumvented. It means the constitution should be amended. The constitution is the only way we, as citizens, can make a difference, and its the only real check/balance we have on the 3 branches. If we abide STRICTLY to the constitution, the only way policies can change is if the majority of americans want it to, since we have to vote for amendments to the constitution. It seems to me like the best way to bring "we the people" back into the government.

edit- i didnt think to look at the number of people polled, i just saw the percents, so I'm not as surprised

Lurching onward for a bit does not solve anything.......yes lets just keep quiet and go along with the system for the hope that it will lurch on just one more day. To each their own but I am sick of just waiting for things to maybe get a little better in society so I don't plan to.
