Unless you are part of the leadership or management team of the Methodist Church you have nothing to apologize for. If you find your Church has let you down, you and other members of your Church who feel that way should organize their own church.
Which reminds me of a story. Two Jews leave a sinking boat and swim to an island. The first thing they do is build three synagogues on the island. Two that each separately attends and a third that neither will set foot in.
