I think we should have a free-for-all thread where we all insult the poo out of each other in a no-holds-barred championship bout of dry wit, sarcasm, and obscure references. Further, I think this should be that thread, since it is already (a) about censorship, and (b) headed in that general direction.

Do you think it would be too ironic for us to lock or remove it?

Oh yes, quite ironic--the moderators locking a thread about censorship.

If you're going to do it--at least do it before Vigilans replies, or I might be in danger of losing the debate.

Censureship has a unique official meaning in the USA

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censure_in ... ted_States

How would you propose implementing censureship in WP? As opposed to the present system of discipline where moderators administer spankings to miscreants?

In Britain private entities have to obey the law.

This means that if you run a bed & breakfast and refuse to do business with someone because they are gay and you are a christian that doesn't like gay people, the gay person is entitled to sue you.

If Alex is making money from people in Britain Alex can be sued in British in British courts if his business operation doesn't comply with British law.

Despite the reoccurring theme in this thread, private entities are not free agents, they have to obey the law.

There is no winning or losing when there is no actual debate. All you have been doing is insulting me. You have contributed absolutely nothing to the thread's actual topic

Are these situations really analogous? A bed & breakfast refusing a customer and an online support forum's thread locking policy???

Hey Vigilans, how does it feel to be the new Inuyasha (this is not hypocritical, this is relevant to the discussion and not negative; plus everyone knows this is true)?
