The left have this problem worse than the right. You also have to remember thar this was during the Cold War and lots of these terrorist groups were proxies.

To fair to her, Nelson Mandela was a terrorist, just not the sort that kills people.
I don't remember anything before Blair, so maybe I'm sheltered from her a bit, but I personally don't see why people are happy she's dead- for anyone who didn't know her personally, it's no different to her simply being retired. I think many of her policies were disastrous and divisive.
I'm getting a bit fed up of all the praise coming from the media, particularly the stuff about her being our greatest peace time Prime Minister. Erm, Clement Atlee? Harold Wilson?

I am not here to argue rights and wrongs, I am just pointing out things that have caused people to develop an intense hatred of Margaret Thatcher.
Please note that I have voiced no personal judgement either way.

His group was a violent paramilitary group that murdered civilians. They bombed buildings and terrorised people. That doesn't mean to say that the idea that all of South Africa should have a democratic say is bad, but it's worth noting that the ANC were not fluffy bunnies.
Margaret Thatcher was very anti-apartheid (and often said so too), but she did not think that sanctions were the best way of going about bringing change to South Africa.

By opposing apartheid, you mean? She thought that sanctions weren't the best way to bring them to heel, as it could do more harm to South Africans than good.

The man who closed more pits than Margaret Thatcher ever did?

Again with the continued insistence that the left is a united front...
IDontGetIt made no reference to "the right", just Thatcher. If you had said "Galloway keeps sucking up to dictators..." then that would be a fair response. Irrelevant and fallacious, but equivalent.

This ^ Love her or hate her, she had the courage to act on her convictions and bigger balls than anyone in parliament, then or since.
A lot of Germans thought the same about Adolf Hitler back in the days of the Weimar Republic. The fact that she had the courage of her convictions doesn't mean that her convictions were right.

She was democratically elected three times. The British public didn't get rid of her. Back-stabbing bastards in her own party did.

Oh yes they did via direct action of mass non payment of the community charge (poll tax)!
