Yeah, probably a lot of straight up illegals working at Tyson hog and chicken farms. I'm sure they'd have them working in their processing plants too, if they could get away with it!
Walmart has done lotsa bad stuff for the economy, but having the Waltons as neighbors is pretty good--Crystal Bridges, Razorback Greenway, etc.

I don't have an issue with immigration so long as it is legal and the immigrants try their best at integration(staying out of trouble, learning and using English, and not forming insular ethnic enclaves) Certain groups I think have a much harder time at integrating like refugees which I just can't support bringing into this country in any large numbers, I do not believe fundamentalist Islam of the Salafi/Wahhabi strain should be allowed into this country as it is inherently anti-American and completely opposes the values western civilization. Europe is having a lot of problems that I do not want to share and I do believe there is a real security threat that is very easily avoidable.
Foreign worker sometimes may be needed, I think there is a lot of exploitation and abuse which need to be dealt with and I think step it dealing with illegal immigration where the worst of the worst happening and we can't just target businesses that hire them because the reality is not all of them work for big businesses but rather privately. You have turn of the spigot of illegal immigration, we have to control who comes into this country and we have to selective because the reality is that there are probably a few billion people on this planet that would like to move to the US but if we let everyone in then in then it will cease to be America. To punish big business we need to take away their toys and means of control, they've have bought our government and have crafted are border and trade policy that favors the 1% rather than the American worker. Is it realistic that 30 million people can be deported back to their home countries? Doubtful but I don't think in 2016 with the world's eyes on you that it be this next Holocaust. If you still have the flag decal then on your person than you really can't complain about how inhumane it is to be sent back to such a place. It's not like we're sending people back to North Korea where they'd sent the labor camps until they died.
I believe firmly in the melting pot idea, I don't believe in multiculturalism because I think that lends it these cultures segregating themselves and not identifying first as Americans. We don't need anymore hyphenated Americans, we need more patriots and people that believe in our constitution and want to join this culture. If you leave somewhere then there is a reason why you left, it bothers me to see foreign flags flying in this country because this is America and you should leave the old country behind. I don't have any connection whatsoever to Germany or Norway or wherever else my family may be from other than my last name, a few foods, and a few cultural traditions that have carried on. My grandfather who was born in this country only spoke German until he started school but he served in WWII with honor and was one of the greatest patriots I've ever known. You don't have to reject your culture but you should embrace and immerse yourself in ours, if I moved Brazil or Mexico I couldn't ask them to change and accommodate for me when the onus should be on me. Multiculturalism strikes me as a very entitled. Vast and quick demographic change is the just a recipe for disaster in my opinion, immigration should be metered and it should make active efforts not to cause these huge demographic shocks. A trickle is a lot easier to manage than a raging torrent.
It is jarring to think about sometime, most of the black people in my hometown were originally from the American South from places like Arkansas and Mississippi and they've never have been able to escape poverty in this city to even form a semblance of a working class even. The jobs were already leaving by the time they got here in late 50s/60s, Wisconsin use to be quite generous with is welfare but were also the first to start the whole trend of welfare reform in the 80s under governor Tommy Thompson(hey remember he ran for president for a second lol) These people have probably lived in absolute poverty since they brought over here from Africa, how can one be surprised at how awful these ghettos are? People tend to live up to their expectations, their own and what people think of them and it has been awful awful thing in this city which is as segregated or more than any American city in the south. It's ironic since this is the birthplace of American progressive, the birthplace of the original Republican party, we had literal Socialist mayors for 38 years of the last century yet inequality and segregation both economic and racial is so rife. It's an embarrassment and one that people don't even really know about. I grow up in an post-industrial wasteland, I use to wander these abandoned factory yards and whatever you'd call these ruins which liter our landscape and it's hard to even imagine what this city use to be like. There use to be jobs, manufacturing, it's was vibrant culture I think that has been driven into the ground. The crash in 2008 really didn't effect us that much at least on the surface as much as we had bottomed out long ago. The only jobs were fast food pretty much, not even much retail since most of that has moved to the suburbs.
That's why 'Make America Great Again' is such a powerful message to me, maybe somebody who have had explosive growth and prosperity spring up around them most of their life cannot understand because things have gotten better whereas my experience was a rotting decaying city ran by oppressive overpaid self-interested bureaucrats. I see more things being built here Phoenix just walking down 2 city blocks than I did almost my entire life in Milwaukee and it really effects me seeing that because all I know is urban decay and white flight. I literally grew up in the ruins of the former manufacturing core of this country and all my life almost every thing I own is made in China by modern-day slaves. It's disgusting, we have no jobs and they are enslaving millions of people to sell us substandard crap and it doesn't matter if it is cheaper than it would of been otherwise if nobody has a job and whatever money they do have goes to just scrapping by.
I like Mexicans, I like their culture, I love their food, I think they have many admirable aspect of their culture that are becoming much rarer in my people's with commitment to family, but this isn't Mexico and I never want to be and that doesn't seem to be true a lot of these recent Mexican immigrants who are among the more nationalistic people in the world(Americans may not be much better but we're also not third world country with people desperately trying to get out) I don't understand the nationalism, why come here if you love another country more than this one? I don't want part-time mercenary Americans and segregate themselves. I believe we need to secure our border, we've been promised a wall for decades and it's time that they deliver and I know it won't solve the issue illegal immigration but apart what it would do on the ground which is considerable it would also be signal to people that you can no longer take advantage of this country and people would come. We have a border now where you can essentially just walk over right in front of Border Control and they'd would end up eventually releasing you into the US so it's system that needs to change quickly.
This country is so large and I think it is simplistic to assume all our national interests are shared in all geographic corners of this country. You can demonize these people you disagree with all you want but generally speaking people what is in their self-interest and you can't blame a person for that, why wouldn't a poor out of work coal miner from Pennsylvania support Donald Trump? Hillary literally said that she is going to put coal miners and coal companies out of business, those that make that person racist? How is it against his interests to vote for Donald Trump? These coastal elites are so shocked by how angry Trump supporters are and don't understand why they hate the media and the suits in Washington so much when they need to look in the mirror, all that that hatred they accuse these people of having has been is a reaction to the elitists who look down their noses at the middle of this country and the working class as uneducated, stupid, racist, and any other terrible thing they can say. It's just being returned in kind and that's why the media has lost its power, new media has made it so these gatekeepers of public opinion now longer can control the narrative and it seems like both the Republican and Democratic parties have been wildly out of step with their parties base supporters. The whole ideologies that they invented for themselves that are what are Republicans and Democrats are suppose be have lost support of the masses who are now waking up this terrible situation that these people created.
People have been saying for decades that Republican party did not represent the interests of its base and now finally a candidate has come along that does. People thought Barack Obama was a candidate like that at one time, even me as I remember going to early town hall of his way before he won the Democratic nomination but he shown himself a liar and not much different than his predecessor besides taking opposite sides in their invented 'culture war' which was meant to bind people together that would have had economic views and interests that were completely incompatible which has been the case for decades now. I read an article today that described this realignment as stepping away from this culture war politics to one that pits nationalists against multicultural globalist. The Democrats are becoming the party of capital, they're becoming the party of free trade and mass immigration which are the interests of big business. Democrats have seen the influence of unions wane and are now abandoning the working class the the richest and most privileged while string minorities along with identity politics.

As far as ethnic enclaves are concerned, that's always been the case, before assimilation. When my dad's family came to South Dakota in the 1860's, they first lived in ethnic enclaves with other southwest Germans from the Black Sea area of Russia (and were constantly mistaken for Russians). Their story was hardly unique. But assimilate, they eventually did, and so will the new immigrants who are currently living in ethnic enclaves.

I should add, about the Democrats becoming the party of capital. Yes, that's in fact something Bill Maher pointed out. He said something the extent of the Democrats becoming the party of Wall Street, and the Republicans the party of the lunatic asylum.

This didn't happen because laissez faire attitudes or multiculturalism tho, the melting pot had a lot of implications which now are considered racist for some reason but it along with fighting two world wars together made unified country out of many different peoples. My grandfather who was born in 1921 spoke only German until he was 5 when he started school, this was common in Wisconsin at the time and many communities only spoke German and if they were allowed to they would of educated their children in exclusively German.
Assimilation is something we need to help along and also this immigration from Mexico carries a different character as Mexican is not an ethnicity anymore than American is so I am bothered by the nationalism they carry for their home country and this belief that the nation of Mexico is the true owners of basically the entire western United States. Are they Americans first or are they Mexicans? I believe English should be the official language of the United States and that immigration should be metered and fair to everyone not just the people closest to our border, we really need to tackle this Mexican nationalism problem because they quite literally believe and are taught in Mexico that they own the western United States even tho. People shouldn't be punished for coming to this country the right way, illegal immigration most be put to a stop and the unfortunate fact is that a large percentage of Hispanic immigrants have come here illegally. We've given them amnesty which only brings millions of more people demanding the same, we can't do this anymore. It seems like we've created this new race in the US which I think is very problematic, there is no such thing as the Hispanic race they are mestizos, indigenous, African, or European but they are from another nation and culture. There is some evidence of this changing as the generations go as more and more Mexicans are identifying as white but there are far more also identifying as other which is just not true. I don't think the census should ask anything about race, I think we need to stop categorizing people by race on everything and treat people equal. We're all Americans right? There cannot being Americans +1.

Yes, we're all Americans, and that should be our primary national identity. But there's nothing wrong with Americans remembering where they come from, and taking pride in their ethnic roots. The great thing about the American melting pot is, when a new group arrives, they simply don't disappear into the collective, but leave their imprint in American culture, changing it forever.

The Republicans are becoming the party of populist nationalism, the losers of the new world order which is what globalism is whereas the Democrats are becoming the new party of capital and Wall Street. We talk so much about Wall Street and deservedly so but lets not forget the robber barons of Silicon Valley while making something tangible(most of the time) who have made the billions off the backs of slaves in China, Vietnam, and elsewhere. They've married themselves to identity politics and out person but these culture wars are ending now and I think the GOP can win many minority voters if they embrace this populist message. Most minorities are more traditionalist and conservative in this personal beliefs anyways so if their party abandons them economically then what is keeping them besides having no where else to go? I think Trump can and will change the GOP for the better.

Well, if the Republicans honestly want to attract minorities, then they should stop coddling racist whites with voter suppression of said minorities, or the gutting of civil rights, just so those racist whites will believe they're ahead of the "other." Stop saying that reverse racism is a worse problem than racism, or condemning public courtesy, especially for other ethnicities, for damnable political correctness. Stop demonizing people in need in general for being leaches looking for free stuff. And be willing to accept a more culturally inclusive America, where not everyone is a Christian, or white, or gainfully employed. The thing is, as the Republican base seems incapable of embracing such things, I don't see the Republican party successfully reaching out to these people.
