And there's been talk of a state of Lincoln carved out of the eastern halves of Washington (where I reside) and Oregon, north Idaho, and western Montana. It's an old idea that's been kicked around for years, but it'll never happen. Nor should it happen, as it would be economically disastrous for those of us in the less urbanized, poorer areas that would be Lincoln, and would more likely be run by Christo-Taliban lunatics.

I don't know about that. In my experience, the average liberal is actually less tolerant than the average conservative. With this, they see any tolerance of conservatism to be intolerable and will do whatever it takes to quash it.

I know who all of you are talking about. I just want to address the thinly-veiled accusations which have been expressed here.

Intolerant of conservatism? What does that even mean?

I've already made it very clear that I don't consider guns to be inherently bad. I don't consider Christianity to be inherently bad.

Isn't that what conservatism is about? It's all about God and guns right?

I'm opposed to lies. It's possible to be a good Christian without lying about Islam.

Nationalistic mythology is full of lies too. America, Canada, Australia and Great Britain all sided with Indonesia during the East Timor Genocide. It is morally reprehensible to ignore this fact. Also, ignoring the East Timor Genocide could be considered anti-Christian, because the people of East Timor are Christian. In fact, East Timor is statistically more Christian than the United States. 99.1% of Timorese people are Christian, compared to only 71% of Americans.

We should not pretend that the US military wants to liberate people. The US military has a long track record of killing innocent people (many of whom are devout Christians) and more innocent human beings will be killed if we submit to nationalistic mythology.

I have nothing against the traditional conservative lifestyle. If a woman wants to wear a dress and stay in the kitchen, I have no problem with that as long is she is the one making that choice. I also have no problem with a man who wants to give up pornography and go to church every Sunday. When I was younger, I felt that Christianity had no value ... but then I watched some documentaries about the Byzantine Empire and now I get it. Christianity has historical significance. Plus, Jesus was good man who wanted the Roman emperors to stop being so mean.

From what I have seen, most of the conservatives on this site are not all about morality, discipline and self-control. The conservatives here are all about the phrase "Why don't we just bomb the son of b*****s?" as well as the phrase "My country, right or wrong."

Am I opposed to self-discipline? Not at all ... as long as it isn't being imposed on other people. "Conservative values" should be a choice that individual people make. It should not be a "choice" that is imposed upon society by the upper class.

I am, however, opposed to senseless killing. I'm also opposed to the pseudohistory which reinforces senseless killing.

By the way, I have not turned this site into a "left-wing echo chamber". I've been to left-wing echo chambers before. People on those sites whine about "sexist video games" instead of stuff that happens in the real world. Not my style.

See everyone?

I try to compromise with Raptor and he rejects every opportunity. The hostility between us is 100% his fault.

Why would I report you?

You are showing the entire site why I am right and you are wrong.

Good point. There should have been a war on media bias along with the war on drugs.

Fixed: It was supposed to be "Now go report me" since that seems to be the habit of a few WP progressives as of late.

Btw, it's you doing the showing and it's not what you wish it where. :shameonyou

Disappointing :(
I was hoping for a nice long tirade about the horrors of the Reagan years.
So which one is the lesser evil, Reagan or Trump?

Are you aware that a free press is mentioned in the constitution? The founders understood that the future of a free society rested with the right of the media to criticize the government, and anyone else. This attack by Trump and conservatives on the media might very well represent a genuine threat to American free government, and the birth of a new fascism..

I actually consider Reagan to be slightly better than Trump.

Reagan was a hypocritical windbag who preached Christian values while supporting Suharto's genocide, but at least Reagan was (relatively) cool-headed.

Trump is a hothead who could potentially start a nuclear war because he likes to act without thinking first.

Free speech is also protected, and yet you might get arrested for yelling “fire” in a crowded theater.

Well ... one of the biggest problems with people nowadays is that they don't do enough independent history research.

The best way to see through media bias is to spend a bit of time and effort learning from scholarly sources. What you see in the news is either a simplification of the truth or an outright lie.
