Don't let's forget that Mussolini was a Socialist before be founded Fascism, and that he did so because he believed Fascism would succeed where Socialism failed i.e. they have the same utopian end-goal.
Mussolini fell out hard with socialism because of WWI. He resented the many Italian socialists who opposed any Italian intervention in the war. His animus started to be directed less at the bourgeoisie, and more at non-Italians--especially Austria. He wanted Italy to declare war on the Central powers to thwart their imperialism, and to allow Italy to claim territories in Austria-Hungary with ethnic Italian majorities.
By the time he declared himself a fascist, he had rejected any utopian socialist model in favor of Italian nationalism. I find it hard to call his ideas utopian once he embraced Italian imperialism. Mussolini's ideal world isn't very utopian unless you're Italian and don't have a conscience.

I
love that movie. We watched it in German class so I almost never hear other people talk about it.
The nostalgia for the old DDR (
Ostalgie) tends to be felt by those on the left who recognize East Germany's glaring faults while missing the better aspects, and wondering what could have been if it had grown to be a more open, democratic society on its own.
