What's the point of having a mod if they can't take action against posts that they deem offensive?
Uhm, to protect the site from REAL threats?
But yes, the mods do have some responsibilities,
it's just supposed to be a very light touch, as Alex
has been burned by bad decisions by mods before,
AFAIK

Alex indeed has the final say but I can't see that Quatermass is doing anything wrong with stating his rules. He isn't threatening to ban people - just telling them to watch what they post.
You know, I'd pretty much agree that this is
a good policy (though the execution was a bit
arrogant for my tastes), but for the fact that the
site owner has expressly told the mods NOT to engage
in such. Now, if this policy has changed, if the mods are
working as a good unit, with utmost trust and respect for
one another, and these decisions are carefully weighed,
and written, so as to cause LESS trouble than the problems
they seek to eliminate, it might just work.
However, I think that Alex has had some experience here
which has led him to believe that aspies simply don't like such
authority, and intrinsically rebel against it. Oh, not all - but
enough that reasonable liberties should be allowed. Again,
maybe I'm being conceited in thinking that cleverly worded
statements could defuse situations better - but do remember
that the mods are neither paid, nor selected for any particular
talent in such matters. So, it is no wonder that sometimes their
wording is such to anger - and not in the correct manner.
