Iran and nuclear weapons
Well I can’t speak for everyone, but I just cringe at the thought of a religious fundamentalist regime having nuclear weapons.
But George Bush isn't in power any more..
btw...South Africa (the other USA... had 6 'Hiroshima-style' nukes, but was the only country to actually disarm and go non-nuke...
Iran has launched a satellite. Once you can get it around the world, you can drop one anywhere.
North Korea is up next.
We make a lot of noise about proliferation, but we haven't stopped anyone yet. The only problem is that the latest players, Pakistan (well, not so recent..., Iran, and North Korea are more interested in uee than deterrence.

Iran is quite a ways from developing a nuclear weapon. As a nation, it has done no invasive acts although it is taking large advantage in the Middle East of the huge unpopularity of the aggressive acts of the USA and Israel. I doubt the west can stop it from becoming a nuclear power like the numerous others now extany and a violent act will probably only strengthen its position.
