OK, so you pre-empted my edit. Whatever. It must not have been clever enough. That's obviously because I'm a dumb sheeple, unlike George Orwell who was a socialist and saw through the lies and deceit of the ruling establishment.

Ok, next rule: tell us what your favorite way to make fun of Orwell is. Also make your next rule involve Orwell somehow.

Orwell, I did see AG's post. I thought this thread was in big trouble.

My new favorite way to make fun of Orwell is to call him a banana head.

Aside from his fixation on being religious Orwell is intelligent, well informed and approaches problems with a sense of fairness and reality however I might disagree with his conclusions.

My rule: Explain to me concisely and intelligently what Christ sacrificed when he died and was beamed up to Heaven to exist happily ever after.

There would be the suffering on the cross. Crucifixion isn't exactly a picnic. (Though it could be worse- you could be stabbed) Also, Christianity teaches that Jesus was resurrected on the third day. Unless you are Mormon, most Christians believe that those three days are when Jesus suffered in Hell.

The beginning of the Apostle's Creed reads:
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried, He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead...

Now, it's not eternal damnation, but I don't see many people volunteering for a long weekend in Hell.

New Rule: Start another religious debate, because we don't have those often enough.

New rule: make an argument about Awesomelygloriousism, and how it should properly be observed.

A basic requirement of any religion is that the god figure must display something extraordinary besides a dense inarticulate impenetrable dogma. I have yet to be impressed in this direction.

Rule: Describe explicitly and with detail the most forgettable person you have ever encountered.

I once met this guy who was six feet tall, with black hair and striking blue eyes. He was as thin as a rail and spoke with an French accent. Oh wait...maybe it was it a short, fat, blonde woman from the south. I forget.
