No offence to Americans on here but America is one of the last places in the west I would want to live. The whole mentality seems to be based around selfishness and looking after number 1. Religion getting tied into so many things, even politics, seems like lunacy to outsiders. Life having such little value that you can purchase assault rifles just in case you get into a dispute with someone. The media clearly being designed to divide society and cause multiple problems, yet the population seems to gobble it up like its a soap opera. It's a country that appears to thrive on anger, hatred and division.
A lot of the Americans have a lot of awful s**t to deal with but so do we, we have an incompetent majority tory government that don't even know their arse from their elbow. Still though I do agree we have it slightly better over here thanks to the welfare system if something does go wrong, our sh***y media isn't much better though - I mean it pretty much killed Diana as a result and made many celebrities commit suicide so we don't really have it that much better.
The way I see America is like the UK on steroids but thankfully we're really toned down in all these different aspects. We don't have all that religious stuff over here thankfully, we're pretty chill in that regard. Our countries main problems are the pedophile rings, incredibly bad rape issue and the import/taxation stuff.
If you want to buy a small 2 bedroom cottage here you're looking at £200k-300k, our house and land prices are literally through the roof you need to either be a business owner or a landlord to buy property here these days. The rents here are ridiculous too.
Our country is not much better off than America we just have different stuff we struggle with more or less than America.
