"Expressing his opinion" is one thing.

Seeking to monopolize newsmedia, so that only his distorted views gain expression, is diabolical.

Even Fox News reports that British lawmakers have lived in fear of his media empire for decades.

Rupert Murdoch thinks that he should be able to get away with brazenly violating the law, and with violating people's privacy.

This thread began with a complaint about George Soros donating money to various news organizations. This isn't the same as owning and controlling the news, so that we all become mindless robots like Inuyasha.

The complaint against George Soros, of course, originated from Rupert Murdoch himself.

Rupert Murdoch has systematically reduced news to tabloid. The news organizations to which George Soros donated money get people thinking, and Rupert Murdoch doesn't want people thinking.

Every one of Rupert Murdochs news outlets came out forcefully in support of invading Iraq. Some more diversity of opinion, and objective analysis, would have been of much greater value.

How can anyone monopolize news. The Net is crawling with alternative news sources and blogs.

When one man controls hundreds of news outlets, many of which had previously been considered reputable, and has them all broadcasting the same opinion, dumbed down to a tabloid format, you really have to watch out for him. You might think that you are independently verifying a report or analysis, by seeking out several sources. But, when all sources are owned by the same man, you certainly aren't being treated to objectivity.

Case in point: The Wall Street Journal,

http://www.slate.com/id/2255620/

which was formerly a reputable newspaper. Rupert didn't completely turn the Wall Street Journal into a Fox News-style tabloid. However, you still get these goofy anti-Soros articles.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 24418.html

which you will find on all of Rupert's news outlets. And, what kind of coverage do you expect for Rupert Murdoch's wiretapping scandal? Probably some editorials that make Rupert out to be a roguish hero.

I have said it before and I will say it again.
there are two things conservatives hate.
being called Racist and People who are not white.

My take is if you don't want to be called a racist.
stop saying racist crap.

Excuse me, but I happen to be part Native American, I generally don't bring it up because I think judging someone on their ethnic heritage is idiotic at best, however I'm getting fed up with you saying that I somehow hate myself because I happen to be a Conservative.

You want to know why I have a problem with Liberals, well you're a shining example of why I have a problem with liberals. Your intolerant bigotry, wrapped in the name of tolerance is quite frankly disgusting.

You have called me an anti-semite along with pandabear on numerous occassions for no other reason than to try to smear me (or maybe it was that you were taught that Conservatives are somehow anti-semites). Got news for you, I'm not an anti-semite, I have nothing against the Jewish People. I don't care that you and George Soros happen to be Jewish, my dislike of George Soros and my lack of respect to you has nothing to do with your heritage and everything to do with his and your own actions. Someone can have a problem with someone whom happens to be Jewish, and not be an anti-semite.

You just throw the label of anti-semite around as a way to somehow make people afraid of criticizing you and/or other leftist lunatics, it is highly disgusting and spits in the faces of every victim of the Holocaust, all the survivors, etc. You quite frankly should be ashamed of yourself.

You don't have any rational reason to hate George Soros. Your hatred is purely irrational. An irrational hatred of someone who is Jewish, plus an irrational hatred of long list of other Jews, indicates anti-semitism, even if you are not fully conscious of it.

@Inayaya you are the one that criticized a holocaust survivor about his feeling about his time in the war.
you are the one that posts defenses of anti-semites.
you are the one that uses anti-Semitic tropes and stereotypes in your ad hom attacks on me.
turn out I am not a liberal. the only party I have ever registered in is the Republican.
The only candidates I have ever worked for are republican.
you are just too stupid to see that someone can disagree with you without being a cartoon character.

I never said I hated him, you are just making up stuff as usual. Disliking someone does not mean one hates that person.

JakobVirgil wrote:

About the fact he doesn't feel any regrets decades later, it is troubling to say the least.

JakobVirgil wrote:

No, I've posted defenses of people whom are falsely accused of being anti-semites in an attempt to silence them. It's like you're just calling everyone that disagrees with you a racist.

JakobVirgil wrote:

So you're saying I don't have the right to be pissed off after you slandered me, by calling me an anti-semite? That I somehow don't have the right to call you out? Got news for you, I have every right to be angry with you, you really crossed the line in your smear attempt.

Why do I get the feeling you aren't telling the truth? Probably because you aren't.

You and pandabear call me an anti-semite then act surprised that I would be pissed off towards the two of you?!?!?! Do you have a problem with your memory?

You're completely obsessed with him.

Now you're attempting to silence people who are falsely accused of being anti-Semites? Interesting.

No. He is saying that you are the one using anti-Semitic tropes and stereotypes. He is not saying that you haven't the right to be "pissed off" (where did you learn such language?).

Actually you're the one who started it. Glenn Beck said something that was factually correct, one could even argue he interpretted it correctly, to call him an anti-semite for it is dishonest, then to call me an anti-semite for calling you out on that is also extremely dishonest. You just didn't expect that I wouldn't run away and hide after being slandered.
