Anyhow, the individual whose New Testament musings served as the basis for sexual ethos in the West during the past couple of millennia is Paul.

Ephesians 5 wrote:

I don't think I'd want a pro that was as cheap as a loaf of bread.That would be about three dollars for a good loaf.

Well, in some countries, the going rate is about that.

Making prostitution illegal raises the risk and also the market price.

For Westerners, food represents such a small percentage of income that it skews our perceptions.
