Trump announced his candidacy three years ago this week. It's been a bad three years for the media's reputation, that's for sure.

On one hand, I can understand why many autistic people dislike Trumps “Biff Tannen” like public persona. It makes some people think of bullies. I hate to use the word “trigger” but it can trigger memories of being mistreated for some people.
BUT, autistic people are constantly being nit picked for their mannerisms and poor choices of words. How can we give some people a pass for communication differences and not others? It’s not fair.
Also, if you look at early Trump interviews, and read his books, you can see that his hyperbole is not his natural way of speaking. He is purposely using his “Apprentice” TV personality in public. Why? Do some research and it becomes clear. If you’re not interested, I mean, don’t involve yourself in politics. It’s lazy. Like, I would never interject myself into a WWI conversation because I simply don’t know that much about it. I’d listen, not argue.
I do not think Donald Trump is now or has ever been unfair to women. I flat out don’t see that argument and never have.
This is my last beef- some autistics (not you Fnord, and not some others here who specifically come to my mind, but some) are more easily manipulated by certain kinds of neurotypicals. We all know this-it’s why autism can be called a social disability, why so many autistics are preyed upon financially, sexually, emotionally. Some of the media disinformation leads people to false conclusions. I think it purposefully tries to divide people, targets survivors of abuse and harsh circumstances and presents misinformation to them so that they cannot make informed decisions.
Just because you don't like the idea Trump has been unfair to women does not make it false. There is more evidence that he has than that he hasn't. There is even a video of him sexually objectifying his daughter, to some T.V host or something...I am sure I could find the video.
Also I hardly dislike Trump just because of how he talks or his mannerisms, he also has actively appointed unqualified people to various positions like Scott Pruitt for the EPA who is actively working to destroy our climate, ecosystems and national wildlife parks in the name of opening it all to oil and coal. Burning coal is bad for health and Trump wants to strengthen that industry rather than move to renewable sources. Trying to turn back regulations on vehicle emissions, which will also put our air quality at risk. That is just a little bit...so for me it is the policies he and his buddies Scott Pruitt and Jeff Sessions are enacting.
I don't feel sorry for him, that is for sure...he knows what he's doing.

Oh my tablet just restarted itself and I lost my draft. Lemme start again.
Howard Stern. His show has always been gross like that-leading people into saying or doing bad things so he can laugh at them. Trump should have known better. It is clear that Ivanka is his favorite child, and he seems to see her as a better version of himself.
It would be nice to have more sustainable energy sources, but until we do, we have to also invest in coal. My husband works at an organization that has spent probably over a million at this point in green energy. Right now, the money they have spent to make a single building green would have covered practical upgrades for the rest of the organization, AND, the green updates will break before the energy savings have equaled their costs. In my husbands building they have a $10,000 solar panel that can only power the lights in ONE hallway. So the technology in some areas is not good enough yet. Which is puzzling. It should be at this point. More work needs to be done in this area.
My big thing is that we have to develop energy from our own country so that we are not dependent on other countries. And we cannot just take scientific findings as fact. As a researcher, I can tell you this and you are welcome not to believe me. ALL research data you read, on anything, is easily fabricated. That is a big part of why I walked away from it. Those of you who submitted data to me-I could have rewritten everything you said. No one checked behind me. No one even asked me. That really bothered me. My cousin is a biological researcher. It’s the same there. So when we read that the world is ending and humans are toxic and whatnot, we really need to go back and study it all again. With blind oversight.
You don’t like Scott Pruitt, okay. He may not be there tomorrow. We don’t know. Sometimes Trump puts a person in place temporarily, and sometimes a person turns out to be different than they appeared. I like to wait and see.
I just really think many things are not as bad as we have been led to believe.

NO we do not need to invest in coal, we do not need a a single new mountain top removal mine. We have more than enough means and technology to start right now ending any dependence on it. Most additions to our energy grid in the past few years has been from renewable sources. We need to invest in clean energy and ensuring any remaining coal power plants do as least damage as possible.
Also, I do not think scientists are making up climate change, or that humans are contributing to it greatly and that we need to take it seriously and clean up our act. I realize we aren't ready to entirely switch to renewable energy this second, but that is where the investment needs to go not in reviving the filthy coal industry. Its more complex than 'the world is ending, humans are toxic bla bla bla.' There is direct evidence what we put into the air is contributing to global warming and if we don't change it...we could lead to conditions we cannot live well in. By no means does there have to be an end of the world due to human contributions to climate change. I haven't heard any scientists saying OMG the sky is falling its the end of the world, more like it is time to take climate change seriously and take action.
And what about wanting to rollback vehicle emmision regulations that require lower emissions? what is the excuse for that...did you know any diesel engine can run on bio-diesel? which means there is no need for fossil fuel to fuel diesel engines, they don't even have to be modified to use bio-diesel. Regular car engines need some work, ethanol is not as perfect a solution as some people believe...especially if it is made of corn.
It is more than simply not liking Pruitt, more like recognizing the threat he is...everything he's done and tried to do while running the EPA is opposite of protecting the environment. He did not turn out different than he appeared he's been an advocate for oil and coal who's worked against the EPA for years...and now hes in charge of it? Also if Pruitt is not there tomorrow there is someone who could be even worse in line.
That said I think things are at least as bad as they look.

I'm really glad dumb tweets don't inform my political leanings. It's not the left's fault that this administration & its' followers act like preteen 4chan addicts. I don't care about any of this rhetoric because it's OBVIOUSLY hyperbole.
If you're worried about some plutocrats getting 'doxxed' well they can afford nicer houses. Where's the concern for the kids in cinderblock holes?

OK and the big deal there is? The government kills people all the time man, there's also practically zero danger of that actually happening although it really wouldn't be much of a surprise. When a whole administration employs us vs. them, black & white, good & evil generalizations constantly to support its' agenda, they're manufacturing enemies in order to control you through fear.
Word of advice from someone who spends more time online: if it's on Twitter, ignore it.

Trump says North Korea has returned remains of 200 U.S. war dead
DULUTH, Minn. (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said North Korea had returned on Wednesday the remains of 200 U.S. troops missing from the Korean War, although there was no official confirmation of the move from military authorities.
“We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back,” Trump told a crowd of supporters during a rally in Duluth, Minnesota.
U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Tuesday that in coming days North Korea would hand over a “sizeable number” of remains to United Nations Command in South Korea, and they would then be transferred to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.
Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at a historic summit last week in Singapore, and said in a news conference afterwards that Kim had agreed to return the remains of U.S. soldiers.
About 7,700 U.S. military personnel remain unaccounted from the 1950-1953 Korean War, U.S. military data show. According to the Pentagon, North Korean officials have indicated in the past that they have the remains of as many as 200 U.S. troops. More than 36,500 U.S. troops died in the conflict.
