The only people who ever truly get punished for war crimes are the losers in a war.
I wasn't justifying American war crimes, I was simply explaining to Powell why America had waged economic war on Japan, prior to Japan instigating a shooting war.
As a matter of fact, the allied bombing of German cities and towns (Dresden having lost more people to fire bombing than those lost in Hiroshima, if such a thing can be imagined) was completely unjustifiable, and doubtlessly could have been prosecuted as a war crime had the Axis won.
Yes, I'm bitter about what we did to the germans and got away with too. Like tearing that country apart and giving the east half to the goddamn Soviet Union.
