he was seen cavorting in a gay washington DC bar. the scuttlebutt in town is that his wife [arranged marriage] is his "beard." that by itself is meaningless but for the fact that he pushes anti-LGBTQ policies per the GOP platform, the hypocrisy of that, which makes it immeasurably worse.

I am not disagreeing/defending anyone, but, in this age of ubiquitous cameras, wouldn't there be proof? That would be satisfying.

The income gap between the rich and everyone else has grown exponentially since the start of his presidency so, no, no way, for me, at least. There is a lot of debate over whether he started the trend or simply exemplified a trend that was already in the wind, but we really need to go the other way economically, have the gap narrow. The economic health of the vast majority of American families has declined steadily since 1982.

that's sort of what I was getting at: let him run, demanding the same top income tax he was advocating for in the 80s. - the US moved past his wildest dreams since then, and Reafan's wildest dreams sound pretty leftie today

He also supported gun control, but only because the Black Panthers were arming themselves. He also called blacks “monkeys” and “welfare queens”, and continued Nixon’s War on Blacks…er, Drugs.

The Just say No campaign wanted kids to snitch out their parents for weed.

Funny, when that was common in other places America called it totalitarian, and yet never had the self-awareness to consider their own policies. 8)

Each school had a DARE officer ready to take notes.

Reagan would be term-limited and ineligible to run for another term.

"No one" is hardly helpful. ;)

Somebody so unpopular with the voters that they'd cause a landslide swing away from the Republican Party.

trumpy lowered the bar on acceptable behavior so far, that i am afraid he inoculated future presidents'misbehavings against voter punishment.

There's got to be some depths to which even Republican voters wouldn't stoop though.

But just in case, how about a candidate who told the truth? That would be instant political suicide.
