Raggy this is typical 1 dimensional Christian fanatic bull sh**. Islam does not preach any more hate or beating your wife than Christianity does, I personally don't believe in either religion but it's stupid and ignorant of you to act like Islam is the center of all evil just because they believe something different than you do.
There are Christian suicide bombers too, are we to assume that all white Christians are suicide bombers because of Eric Rudolph or Timothy McVeigh? There are people, both Christian and Muslim, and even atheist, who take their views too far. Raggy, your one of them. If a 3rd party jumped in tommorrow and stopped Christianity from being force fed to secular society through politics, people like you would most likely start blowing up buildings in the name of "jesus".
Who'se next after you've all destroyed the middle east? Asia? Theyr "evil" too because their budhist.

Where is the modern Christian article that advocates wifebeating eh?

Or Christian suicide bombing?
Sorry, but victory-through-lying is a common Muslim sermon, and lying is prescribed by the Qur'an! Pretending friendship in order to conquer. Lying is morally acceptable in the Qur'an, and promoted and recommended by the Qur'an.

Not true of the Bible.

"Lying is morally acceptible" and "pretending friendship in order to conquor the world", sounds like Christian republicans to me. You know, hijacking a political party and subverting our national constitution, with no reguard to our constitution, and especially no reguard to the 1st amendment. There is no constitutional law stating we have to be Christians. Or that laws should be based off any particular religion, including yours.

Look, statistically speaking, almost every profession has a higher rate of child molestation than the Catholic priesthood. Lawyers, teachers, truckers... There have been countless scandals involving ministers of all denominations.

Ragtime, I'm pretty sure that there are Biblical stories that involve disguising oneself and misleading others.

I'm not trying to attack anyone's religion, I am an atheist/agnostic, I just think it's stupid when theocrat idiots like raggy feel they have to troll and attack someone else's religion, which is no more scientifically grounded than his is..... Hell if anything religions despise science because it proves their beliefs to be incorrect.

Historically, there's a little more leeway regarding the "personal attack" rule in the PPR forum, but still...

I agree though. I wish that there was a higher standard of debate regarding religion around here. It always seems to degenerate to an exchange of sweeping, inaccurate statements instead of a discussion of facts.

You're serious? Wow...

(Um, they weren't Christians. Jesus said we would know Christians by their works, and by their love.)

Yes, there are. But my point is that the Bible teaches truthfulness in our dealings with one another, whereas in the Qur'an, you're supposed to tell the truth unless lying will lead to a gain or victory. In those cases, lying is morally justified (says the Qur'an).

It's evident that wife beating is popular in many sections of the world. I'm surprised that commerce and governments have not taken advantage of the sadistic impulses. There are plenty of commercial firms doing well selling guns to people who like to kill animals and each other but the wife beating instinct is completely ignored. Walmart probably sells carpet beaters. Why not a stylish wife beater? How about a cabinet to stuff in wives and they can be electrically beaten? And then the pharmaceutical industry could sell numbing compounds to women so it wouldn't hurt so much. And universities could give courses in wife beating techniques. And polygamous societies could work out ways for wives could beat each other and husbands could relax with a sixpack and watch. Wife beating clubs could be popular. Female boxing and wrestling is already popular.
Governments could get into the act by requiring an expensive license to beat your wife and if you are not up to the job you could hire a professional wife beater.
Let's get this thing into the standard mainstream of human cruelty.

I disagree with some of the teachings of Islam. And I am intolerant of Islamic violence, like September 11th, World Trade Center bombing of 1993, the attack on the USS Cole, 1972 Munich Games, terrorist attacks in early '90's and Intifada from 2000-2003 in Israel, Pan-Am flight 103, Richard Reid (who was NOT "Richard Reid", and hadn't been in years, since he had changed his name after converting to Islam -- the media continually hide the Muslim status of violent people, even going as far as using their incorrect names), the French riots by undescribed "youths" (Muslims) 2 years ago, just for starters. Want more???

In your opinion, are ALL muslims in the world like that?
