Later evidence has subsequently proven that the assumption was incorrect.
Assumption does not equal factuality.

Dare I say it?

If you "assume", you make an "ass" out of "u" and "me".
Gawd, I feel so dirty now. :(

Not approving of Biden and obviously “attacking” him are two different things.

Politicians should be attacked if they're doing a sh***y job. I fail to understand your logic.

I am a centrist, and yet I have attacked Biden many times.
I have also attacked Trump, many times.

Does that make me a Trump supporter?

I don’t understand why you are not keeping this conversation civil. It’s disappointing.

People should understand your logic or else they’re stupid, but if you fail to follow someone else’s logic, that’s, once again, their problem. It must be nice to be so superior to everyone else. Congrats.

What are you talking about? I think I'm being quite civil. All I said was I don't understand your logic. How is that an attack? Jesus!

There are plenty of progressives who have no love for Biden and the Democratic Party. So it's a ridiculous assumption.

Saying it’s “ridiculous” is a bit of a stretch since those who attack Biden the most are Trump supporters.

I couldn't care less about that. I expect people to absorb what I've said, and nothing I've said should lead to the conclusion that I'm a Trump supporter for those with good reading comprehension.

I have no reason to believe you are being dishonest in what you have said.
I think some people need to reset their outlook/reality on your political POV, now that you have explained your position. 8)

Invariably, a question such as this is met with thundering silence.

Its a non denial denial.

Vm could have been straightforward and honest and acknowledge the truth and say "yes it may look like I support Trump but I dont support trump. I oppose him for reason XY and Z. But the Dems are just as bad for reason A, B and C.". Something like that.

But instead VM talks like a politician himself. Makes a non denial denial. And makes it MY job to mine his post history.

There is a school of political thought in the US that insists there is no real difference between the 2 major parties, the reasons given being along the lines of:

Both parties are puppets of Wall Street/Goldman Sachs
Both parties are indistinguishably Neoconservative
Both parties supported the conspiracy that denied Bernie Sanders the nomination in both 2016 and 2020, despite that he would have won those elections (and the Presidency) by a landslide had those elections been free and open.

I have seen a couple of possibly tell-tale characteristics of those who subscribe to this school of thought:

--When pressed for an opinion, they'll all claim to not support Donald Trump, but otherwise never speak ill of him. Instead, all their vitriol is reserved for those who opposed him in the last two Presidential elections i.e. Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.
--They all seem to have a soft spot for the Russian point of view regarding Ukraine, although they won't openly support Putin, when pressed.

Given the reality of America's two-party system, this group is arguably more responsible for the current death grip that the Republican Party has on US governance than any self-identifying Republican faction.

If I am ever to challenge the views of anybody expressing such opinions in this forum, it's not because I oppose their right to free expression. It's because I simply have no more patience for this school of thought and am disgusted that everybody thinks these people should be handled with kid gloves, instead of being called out like they should be. Also the fact they refuse to show their true colors unlike the rest of us who make our true opinions clear.

That seems to be the way it rolls here.

That's a cleaver way to get people to avoid being critical of Biden. I wonder if someone come up with it or it just happened on its own.

Well, I think many voted for Biden exactly because he's not Trump... and they're not disappointed. He's not Trump and he's not behaving like Trump. That's not a high expectation but it's definitely met.

Personally, my opinion on Biden is steadily rising over time, starting from "anyone but not this idiot Trump" to now "I think what he does makes sense, at least the parts that interest me the most".
But that's an outside opinion from Europe.

That's the nature of partisan politics. Everybody is expected to play the game, and if we don't, they only have one response: If you don't like our team, then you must be on the other team. It's infinitely frustrating for those of us who have removed ourselves from the left/right paradigm.
