You know what's sort of embarrassing? I can tell that the drawing is actually a slightly later AKM model from the spoon compensator at the muzzle... :lol:

As far as the actual EDMD event, I think a lot of people are mistakenly thinking that the point of this is to offend Muslims, when the real intention is to show extremists that they can't scare people into censoring themselves; remember that a cartoonist from my own town is (I believe) still in hiding because of death threats over something she drew. A civilized society doesn't stand for that sort of thing, and drawing something that extremists have forbidden is one easy way to give them the collective finger.
