North Korea erasing most anti-US propaganda

Nix the nuclear warheads, cue the doves.

The North Korean government is erasing much of its anti-U.S. propaganda following dictator Kim Jong-un’s forays onto the world stage.

Gone are the posters depicting the U.S. as a “rotten, diseased, pirate nation” and promising “merciless revenge” on American forces for an imagined attack on the totalitarian country.

In their place are cheery messages touting praising the prospects for Korean reunification and the declaration Kim signed in April with South Korean President Moon Jae-in promising “lasting peace,” according to reports.

Still the most isolated country in the world, very few North Koreans have access to news and information from the outside world. So state propaganda plays a huge role in shaping their views.

Why is this filthy beast still in the white house? Why hasn't he been indicted or impeached yet? What's taking so long?

It's been possible to buy off most levels of our justice system for quite some time now.

I blame the corporate Democrats.

They've been trying to declaw the left for quite some time now.

How's about that.

North Korea’s ‘anti-U.S. imperialism’ rally will not be held this year

For the first time in years, North Korea will skip its annual “anti-U.S. imperialism” rally, according to The Associated Press.

The elaborate rally is typically held on June 27 to mark the beginning of the yearly “Struggle Against U.S. Imperialism Month.” In past years, North Koreans attended a variety of events designed to build nationalism and commemorate the end of the Korean War on July 27, 1953.

While there has been no official statement from Pyongyang on this year’s event, AP reporters in North Korea have confirmed that the rally will not be held on Wednesday.

In years past, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his predecessor Kim Jong Il have used demonstrations such as the “anti-U.S. imperialism rally” to publicly assert defiance and communicate their political beliefs to the world. Images from last year’s rally show masses of North Koreans lined up in rows at the Kim Il Sung square in Pyongyang, waving signs and pumping their fists in the air as the senior party officials denounced the U.S. and its allies. To mark the occasion, the North Korean government even released two special edition postage stamps depicting the literal destruction of America at Pyongyang’s hands.

Not only is the decision to skip the rally a break in years of tradition, it is also a startling reminder of how dramatically U.S.-North Korea relations have changed in the past year.

A story is told of a simple man who began a long road trip from Charlottesville, Virginia, to Mar-a-Largo in Florida. As the man was driving along, he stopped at a rest stop where he was set upon by a vicious group of white nationalists who beat and robbed him -- assuming he was "ethnic". As the man lay bleeding, a well-respected evangelical minister saw him. The minister was hastening to an important meeting in Washington and drove by the man, assuming that medical help was on the way.

Minutes later, a well-respected evangelical radio host nearly ran over the same man -- but not before exclaiming "God bless you" and continuing on in his car. As the man groaned in pain, a Muslim immigrant saw and took the wounded man to the hospital. This Muslim stranger not only waited for the man to receive medical attention but paid for the hate-crime victim to stay in a local hotel to recover from his injuries.

Now, who was the better person: The minister, the radio host, or the Muslim?

Would it be any different if the stranger who stopped to help was Idi Amin? If it were, then would we be supposed to be less critical of him than now?

Regarding North Korea, I think it is pretty safe to assume that North Korea is getting plenty of help in analyzing the situation and dealing with it from the Chinese. We are being played as chumps by both countries.

Middle class Florida mom praises Trump tax cuts and receives a standing ovation.

Her employer gave her a bonus from the tax cuts, which she spent on her kids.

I guess we get the civil rights we pay for.

it seems to me that some people who pride themselves on being intellectuals will never relinquish their original position even in the face of the defeat of their original opinions.

i think he will be the most interesting president in history in that he started off with vitriolic disapproval, and may end up the most acclaimed leader your country has ever known.

but i will have to wait and see.

something a lot of people do on here is refuse to change their assertions even in the face of evidence that their assertions are invalid.

even trump changes his mind. not like many people here. they are doggedly lock jawed on their bones of contention with eyes rolled back because they can not suffer the embarrassment of being wrong.

i do not know. we will wait and see.

Basically his last talking points were 'journalists are enemies of the state' and other rhetoric....so yeah not sure why he should be the most 'acclaimed' leader. Promoting the idea that american citizens who just use the right of freedom of the press are 'enemies of the state' that alone is enough to be concerning on its own. Let alone all the other diarrhea of the mouth he spews.

And maybe the democrats were wrong about guns...after some of that last rhetoric I heard from trump, perhaps we may need guns and lots of them to defend ourselves I mean what is next democrats and liberals are 'enemies of the state' which some other right wing speaker aside from trump might suggest 'you should gun them down'. Kind of like after the rhetoric about journalists there was a shooting at a newspaper/news headquarters or whatever.

well it is only in the fullness of time that we will see his success.

the "press" in america is, as far as i can see, a sensational free for all.

in australia we have checks and balances on our press, and there is a show called "media watch" which uncovers false stories.

well i i know that life is as exciting as it is in the USA in australia, and there is no worry on anyone's mind about violence.

we don't have guns. we don'y need them.

anyway, as i said before, i will wait and see how the trump saga pans out. i am not an american.
