Sex in and of itself is not a sin. Sex is a gift from God.

Lust is the sin you're all thinking of.

I'm actually a Christian and all the non-Christians are blathering on and on like they know what they're talking about. :? 8O

that's because some of us are ex-christians specifically because we started looking a little more deeply into christianity.

I looked a little bit deeper into Christianity and it didn't append an "ex" to the beginning of my religious beliefs.

It did give me a great deal of respect for agnostics and the more logically-minded among the athiests, though, as I can understand the type of s**t they keep getting from fundie christians, being a target for it myself because I don't share the narrow fundie interpretation of the Bible...

wasn't talking about you specifically... but given that fundies are generally the loudest subset of any religion (thanks to their intolerance coming to the forefront), that's why I specifically mentioned them...

Not afraid, Fnord, just inobservant and didn't realize last night that that question was addressed to me. No biggie.

Careful use of contraception, is what I suggest. (For the record, I am pro-choice, but I believe that that choice should preferably be exercised before conception.)

In an ideal world, it would be. Unfortunately, so many people have such a weak conscious will that their unconscious impulses often overwhelm them. Personally, I've strengthened my conscious will to the point that the only time said unconscious impulses kick in is when my life is in danger (which is the point you want the unconscious impulses to kick in).
