Depends. I think it's OK to bash someone for their opinions or actions. Not for what they are though. I don't mind people bashing me for having certain views or doing something they disapprove of, it does bother me if it's because I'm not straight, or I'm white, or I have brown hair.

Being bashed bothers everybody. There's no dichotomy there.

Bashing someone because of their religion is WRONG.

And I don't bash anyone; I simply give my viewpoint when asked. This is a free country, therefore many people have differing views on just about any issue under the sun. Bashing someone for their views is still WRONG, and immature.
My saying that, as a Christian, I hold Christian views, simply means that I'm a Christian. I don't actively oppose gays, but I AM entitled to my opinion.

He could. But I know that I didn't. So I can honestly say that. You don't have to believe me, but it doesn't mean I'm being a hypocrite. I know I didn't choose not to be straight, but I also know that no ones biologically a Christian.
