I'm so conflicted. On the one hand, this is an instance of religious fanaticism, something I instinctively oppose. On the other hand it's Micky Mouse they're fatwaing. What sane person doesn't hate that cartoon rodent?

The person that sees it as the Punch and Judy puppet show that it is and sees that it is simply a distraction from the larger mechanisms at work.

The negative attitudes proclaimed by many different religions against various animal species is, to me, one of the most naive and vicious aspects of religious stupidity. Why not a fatwa against tuberculosis or cancer or some other way to direct negative energy ?
