The Clinton-Bush II fiasco seems quite similar to the Carter-Reagan years. A Democratic initiates some regressive reform (Carter started airline derregulation and introduced religion into politics/Clinton initiated financial sector derregulation & relied on bubble economy for economic growth) and a Republican worsens the problem (Reagan throws a party for the rich, Bush II does likewise).

And people say there isn't enough bipartisanship in Washington, DC.

Very fascinating lecture.

It is an interesting dilemma. The government is going to have to spend like crazy in order to get us out of the mess created by Bush when he was spending like crazy.
