Hi - I'm Louis
I'm rather surprized to even SEE the word "belief" used so freely here -
especially in the contxt of RELIGEOUS belief, which I have NEVER
understood.
The only kind of belief I understand is the kind that DEPENDS on proof
in the form of confirming evidence ( I think that's called "empirical" belief )
But to accept an idea and treat it AS IF it were reality - yet at the same
time acknowledge that it CANNOT be proven - makes no sense to me.
( I'm not referring to such things as hypocracy, wishful thinking or
superstition - their origins are clear enough )
Does this kind of thinking make me an "aspie"????
It probably either makes you an agnostic or atheist.
From Louis -
Neither- I regard "agnostic" as the opposite of "gnostic" and
"atheist" as the opposite of "theist" - all forms of belief for or against
something. I am totaly neutral - impartial and indifferent to whether
anyone's beliefs are true or untrue. Other people are free to believe
whatever they wish so long as they don't bother ME aboout it.
I regard myself as agnostic because I am currently undecided.
Is there something about agonstic that I dont know?
(Dont accept everything as true, yet can see supernatural elements to our universe)
