As long as they do their job like they're suppose to, I don't see any problem whether they be muslim, christian, hindu, jewish, atheist or whatever.....

I think the actions of the one in Fort Hood have no bearing on the character or stability of any others there may be, so this topic is pointless.

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering, this is the tragedy being referred to.

I dont hate muslims or anything but it makes me feel a little bit uneasy because with the war on terror we are not fighting a nation-state or an army like we were in world war 1 and 2 we are fighting an idea and a religions fringe element.Relgion often evokes even stronger emotion then ethnic background, people would feel so bad disowning Israel if they weren't jewish and the holocaust never happend. The see us has heretics so they have no qualms about killing were the wermacht in both world wars and the japanese army were fighting for the leaders politcal objectives. In both wars we could trust the german americans and japanese american not to turn on us but this is a religion a totally different problem.

I think muslims in the military should be screened more carefully. That goes for anyone with family ties to China as well.

Trying to draw a general conclusion from a single instance is an exercise in futility.

The Fort Hood incident is full of inconsistencies and unanswered questions.

First there were 5 shooters. Then 3. Now 1.

The shooter had no indications of this type of behavior. It had to be premeditated, but none of his behaviors prior to the shooting are consistent with someone planning to do this.

There's a real question of if he was on depression meds. Those meds are involved in every mass-shooting in recent history (something the media ignores) and have known side effects of causing violent and suicidal behavior.

You can't prove they were all on antidepressants. The vast majority of shooters' medical records never get revealed because of HIPAA laws.

But it's not a single instance:

How on earth can they appoint a muslim as psychiatrist in the US army?
The US occupies muslim nations.

It's like appointing a Gestapo-officer in the Israeli army.

Muslims are fine in the Army, infact the majority of ALL muslims support the war against terror.

Muslims in the US army could be a great resource- expecially if theyre qualified as shrinks.

They could be formed into special units for deployment in aphganistan to act as culturally sensitive ombudsmen between the local populace and the USA military.

...and there are Muslim Americans. What a novel concept. I don't understand your disbelief.

Why should it mater what a person's religion is as long as they know their job. Being a Muslim is not a crime. Yes, there are terrorists that call them selfs Islamic, but they are as Islamic as the KKK are Christian.
