Is this why Israel wants all of Jerusalem?

First of all, I'm not sure if there is any biblical passage that may be interpreted as the Jews needing to control all of Jerusalem.

But aside from that, I realized that Jerusalem is Judaism's holiest city while it is Islam's third holiest city.

Muslims already have all of Mecca for their holy sites while some want Israel to only have half of Jerusalem. So is the UN resolution in 1947 to blame for this? Do muslims really need all of Jerusalem as their Holy City? Or are Muslim extremists just greedy for land?

Muslims live in Jerusalem and have for centuries, and were a majority there for centuries. Ethnic cleansing operations and the force of arms is being used to change that and the victims of these attacks aren't too happy about it and make their unhappiness known.
