Mancow and Hitchens had it relatively easy.

And let's not forget that some people captured by American forces aren't always guilty.

We have a number of people who have been held for years without trial, or even any charges filed. It's a disgrace, and a crime against humanity.

Prior to the unelected Bush's Presidency, all torture was outsourced to real backwater, reactionary piss-holes like Syria. When people in power are so embolden as to even refuse PR distancing from torture techniques, we know things aren't good.

It is a crime against the victims. I was never adversely affected by water boarding done to others. I might have been offended and appalled but I was never the victim of the injustice.

That we've seen our politicians sitting in the halls of the Capitol and openly debating torture is disgusting. It is not something to be debated, period.

um,,,

you cant PRETEND and PLAY torture, in order to see how tortorous it really is :D
torture isnt a game, thats like shooting people w blanks, in order to test real ammunition penetrating power :D

a tv show here "joked" w a real torture method, and instantly the participants suffered enormous stress symptoms, and the show was quickly interrupted, and the "playful" torture methods removed. you cant "pretend" torture. either you do it all the way, or it doesnt work.

I rather like the definition from the UN :

" ...any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person, information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in, or incidental to, lawful sanctions." From wiki <.< meh.
